Open Jove space for player housing

Jove space would be perfect for player housing. A violence free residential area where you can build your own station and have a place to live.

There is money to be made in selling player housing items.

Your own personal asteroid rocks floating about and other spacial anomolies.

As it stand now, CQ is not housing. It is more like motel lodgings.

Sourced straight from the "Never Gonna Happen," pile of Eve ideas?

Doing this would basically be revisiting WiS, in which case it would be better just to go back and finish WiS.

And we dont need "player housing", a spaceship captain doesnt pay rent on a house they will never visit, since by nature they live in space, the temporary apartments of stations are as much as we need for "living quarters".

As for corps/alliances though, a customizable deadspace or planetary orbit super-fortress people could share adn walk around in would be cool, however again, wouldnt be used much.

Hoenstly, anythignt o do with WiS, if its to not be a waste MUST be socially focused before all else, like SWG and cantinas, however we live in a player community who thinks Teamspeak/tiny chat window is all the "social involvement" that matters and scream/cry if something CCP does threatens to make them take even 1 second longer to do ANYTHING.

I was thinking more of an enhanced, spacious CQ where you can decorate as you see fit. Even Capt Kirk had a home when he wasnt out flying about. As it stands now, Eve capsuleers are vagrants.

You can set up dummy targets around your station to test out your ship's weapons. A grave yard for your collection of corpses.
A kennel for your slaver hounds. A wall to display your awards.

The possibilites are endless..you just need to think outside the sandbox that you know.

Are you just trying to destroy every iota of Eve lore in one swing?

I started to type out a very long explanation of why this would be doing so but I...

I don't... It's not worth the effort. Just go read.... Something... Anything about Eve.

Wait, CCP kills kittens now too?!  - Freyya

Are you a forum alt? Have you ever wondered why your experience on the forums is always so frustrating and unrewarding? This may help.

I've seen many, many calls to open Jove space before - but none with such a ridiculous reason for asking.

Ridiculous? How? Jove space will never become part of empire space, so may as well use it for something.

You could always just ignore this thread. Or is that too difficult for you?

If the Jove where to invite us to their space, do you think it's so we can pew-pew?

I doubt it.

I have a strange fascination with observing people's ability to just ignore the existence of obstacles they find inconvenient, instead of finding ways to overcome them. It's like a loop in the code of reasoning that causes further corruption in the program, and sometimes it's just amazing to see how far it can go before the entire system hard-crashes.

They've had the ability to open the door the entire time. Guess why it stays locked?

The Jove shuttle Apotheosis description says:

Quote:
"For you, children, on your fifth birthday. May your next five years be as full of promise and hope, and may you one day walk with us as equals among the stars."

That is an invitation...so how is it lore breaking?

"May" and "one day" are not "will" and "soon".

Doublespeak, leading on, diplomatic denial, non-committal, supposition, conjecture, postulation, allowing false inference, manipulative. All of these terms can be used to describe most if not all interactions humans have had with Jovians.

They wiped themselves of any resemblance to us to make their society, except for a select few that they have to train to behave like us for the specific purpose of warfare, which has only recently been used against us and not each other and are kindly considered freakish.

It would be similar to a well-to-do Englishman's butler the door of the manor to find a bunch of ravenous, rabid mongrel dogs ripping each other apart bloodily and noisily, with the bodies of innocent children scattered around. The Englishman upon seeing the scene then states "Oh delightful! Things were becoming so droll. Do bring them in and give them a bit of kibble, Donovan."

As much as I would like to see jove space opened up, it wouldn't be for this.

Thing is, just what would Jove space be open to us for? The jove would not tolerate us killing each other in their space. So living there peacefully is the only option.

I would love to look out my station window and see massive Jove ships floating by. Knowing that I am residing among virtual gods.

They will not allow anyone from the Empires to live there. You don't let the contents of your petri dish run around at home.

We already have "player housing":

  • Conquerable stations
  • Outposts
  • POSes

I'd like to see customisation of the space I claim through things such as anchorable monuments ("For Glorious Alliance Victory"), deployable clouds (for "rustic appeal" or something).

There is no reason that the Jove would ever let capsuleers into their space (assuming they aren't all dead now, thanks to capsuleer depredations in Anoikos). If capsuleers ever got to Jove space, it would not be through the Jove simply opening up their gates and saying, "hey guys, come on in and crash on the sofa for a while"!

Oh yes, and be sure to include pet asteroids and belt cultivation.

Oh, and I'd like to have illegal shuttle fights me and my friends can bet on.

Even as an avid WIS supporter I think this idea was just stupid.

If you want customizable quarters then why not just implement it into the current WIS system? Upgrade your own quarters as you see fit. No need for Jove space or for seperate "housing".
