Does Jove space exist?

I know it exists on the map, but my question is did CCP actually model the Jove universe complete with gates/stations and agents. Or is it just dots on the map?

Any chance it can be accessed via wormholes or just brute force flying to it?

Think so

Ok, yes, Jove exists. Back in the old days a few players found a bug to go there by setting their clones in stations that were in Jove space. (This has been corrected)

At that time it was largely 'unfinished' with a lack of rats etc. Star systems and everything were there, but no rats, and I don't remember if they had belts or not.

If you ever get into the alliance tournament you can go explore for a few minutes in Jove space before they move you back to regular space and disqualify you from the rest of the tournament.

Didnt this happen to a member of Hydra once? :P

The systems are very real, CCP devs use them for testing occasionally, and they're also used for the Alliance Tournament.

For the AT teams are teleported in by the devs and teleported out once they're done.

There are no open connections to the rest of the EVE universe.

I bet there's some non-V3'd models and stations in Jove space, since they put down the time to make Jove ships.

As for the latter.. well, I've got some bad news for you.
Only way to access it is to be a Dev/GM or get moved there by one, like in the Alliance Tournament. Slowboating there in an interceptor going say 10,000 m/s would take... well.. let's do some math.

1 AU = 149 597 871 Kilometers, which would take approximately 6 months to slowboat at 10 km/s.

Light travels approximately 63 thousand AU in a Light-year. And how many Light-years is it between the closest non-Jove system to Jove space?

I'll let you do the math.

Actually it's a little worse than that. ;)
1 AU is roughly 499 light-seconds, so there are ~63240 AU in a light-year.

I was literally about to edit my post and correct that when i saw a reply to the thread. But yes you're right, it's 63 THOUSAND AU.

…not to mention that slow-boating doesn't work since you never actually leave the system you're in.

Back in the days when one got stuck between jumps on a regular basis, one clever cooky made a "typo" in a system name while reporting his stuck demise to a GM. According to his accounts there are stations, gates and belts. And that's it. I remember vaguely to have heard that CCP removed the belts as they eat up DB load at downtown without providing anything in return.

I have removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them. As always I let some edge cases stay.
Please people, keep it on topic and above all civil!

The Rules:
4. Personal attacks are prohibited.

Commonly known as flaming, personal attacks are posts that are designed to personally berate or insult another forum user. Posts of this nature are not beneficial to the community spirit that CCP promote and as such they will not be tolerated.

On topic edit: As can be read here, 'The Jove Empire is isolated from the rest of the world to all but a selected few. The Jovians are a mystery to the other races'.

Or as CCP Eterne would say: 'The who?'

Because EVE is real and the Devs are just standing in our way of having real fun.
Yes, of course the Devs would just make tons of content and hide it away from the players.
Devs are so mean...
EVE is real!

Jove space is real, there are not stargates to the jove cluster, but there are stargates within the cluster. Some jove systems do not have gates I believe, I think the AT system is one of these.

Just send the RPers there. And the Devs. I'm sure they can send us updates and new and exciting lore. From over there.

Yeah, lets just keep it in our imaginations and never use it. Jove space serves no purpose, so may as well give it one.

The Jove shuttle Apotheosis description says:

Quote:
"For you, children, on your fifth birthday. May your next five years be as full of promise and hope, and may you one day walk with us as equals among the stars."

That is an invitation...so how is it lore breaking?
