So, Godzilla's been out in theaters. The only theater that's close to me that's playing it over the weekend is an AMC theater just of the highway I'm close to. Thing is, there pricing is **** and the "cheap" tickets are about ten bucks or more per adult. So, I was wondering if anyone has already went to see it and can tell me if it's worth it.

Note, I'm not expecting much in the way of story, I'm honestly just hoping it does a better job than the last Godzilla movie i went to see. The one the labeled Godzilla as a giant iguana and had terrible acting.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Look here: Angry Joes Godzilla review

and here: Jeremy Jahns Non-Spoiler Godzilla review

EDIT: In essence both say, go watch it. Also, Jeremy Jahns has a spoiler review on his site if you want to be 100% sure.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

No. Just no.

I expected to be entertained at least because if you go to see a big dumb monster movie with big dumb monsters slapping the everliving snot out of each other, not only do you expect that you are about to see a big dumb monster movie about monsters, you also expect to be entertained and while Godzilla has a couple of minutes of monsters pounding the crap out of each other, what you really are getting is a movie about people and people talking.

I liked Godzilla 2014 okay, but there could have been a lot more time spent on monsters fighting, people being squished, and stuff being destroyed. Smile

If I had a choice, I'd go see X-Men and wait for Godzilla to come out on DVD.

Def better than the last lizard like Godzilla with babies one.

The movie is fine. The "big problem" is, that it focuses a lot on the people, but the people it relies on aren't written well enough to carry that load and give the needed emotional impact. It had two ways to be better. Either admit they can't write characters people get emotionally attached to and focus more on the monster aspect or learn to write characters and cast suitable actors to play the parts. Not killing off the likeliest character to be able to fill that part and replacing him with a wooden stick would also have been acceptable.

I didn't know there were people who actually watch Godzilla. I thought that was one of those cheap movies they made back when it was difficult to make a movie entertaining. I watched about 15 minutes of it and realized that the monster bashing was boring and most of the movie wasn't monster bashing but was even more boring people talking about monster bashing.

I think that old famous line sums it up: "Gojira!!!"

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

Thanks for all the feedback, guys. As it turns out, I'm gonna be strapped for the weekend anyways (my little cousin is having his birthday). No biggy, it wont kill me to wait for it on DVD, especially since I wouldn't be paying for much more either (one reason I hate AMC theaters, it's bad enough everything else in a theater cost an arm and a leg).

I think the main hate for this movie, is from people who haven't actually watched any of the 50years worth if godzilla movies that come from Japan.

This new American one is actually relatively true to the older movies
