how bout getting rid of the having to upgrade your clone so you don't lose skill points

it takes long enough to get them skillpoints that being able to lose them is stupid

it gets to the point where its not worth even undocking in anything less than a t2 cruiser because your pod would cost more than the ships otherwise

upgrading your clone should mean just that, you upgrade it in some way, i don't know how but maybe something that is similar to how implants work

p.s. i haven't ever lost skillpoints from an un-upgraded clone before ppl say this is a tears thread

as long as you upgrade your clone regularly you cant loose SPs (unless you loose a stratigic cruiser) clones are not that expensive so NO

I'd like to see that happening at some point, but some cost to being podded is likely to stay, since otherwise pod travel will become an instant free travel system. Personally I'd gladly take that over the existing system, but it's not unreasonable to disagree with that, so such a change might very well never happen. I'm much more confident in CCP removing SP loss at some point. It doesn't provide meaningful gameplay and alternative death penalties could be used to encourage people to keep paying for their medical clones. Maybe a reduction in SP gain speed and reduced bonuses from skills would provide similar incentives in most scenarios. In a game where a few percentage points here and there make a big difference and people are willing to pay hundreds of millions for them, it would be hard to ignore even a minor character wide skill bonus reduction, especially if clone prices got further reduced.

.......

If you're not making enough isk as an F1 monkey to afford your own clone, that's not a game design issue.....
