Okay, to help the Original Poster and anyone else looking in. If one were to suggest a series of cheap T1 frigate fits to wander (and explode) in Low and Null Sec, what would one propose?

I've no real experience of doing this so I can't offer much; the last time I tried not to explode was when Rifters were all the rage and I understand that they're not the optimum.

So, to encourage the OP, what fits would one suggest he'd try.

So I popped into low sec things a lot more challenging there, good job my ship was insured, lost some stuff though.
😢Cry

First of all, congratulations on leaving high sec.
You're talking about this loss? https://zkillboard.com/kill/39067098/
You lost nothing, just try to learn something from this loss.

- don't mix different types of guns, go one type and group them,
- don't use civillian stuff you got from tutorials,
- use cheap rigs (any rig is better than no rig),
- treat your ship like an ammunition - you don't cry when a missle leaves your launcher to damage stuff, right?
- start with T1 frigates with cheap T1 meta fits (like a Rifter that costs less than 1M),
- get EFT and use it to evaluate ship fittings: http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Guide_to_using_EFT
- join a corp!
- take a look at http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/ you can find a lot of info there and ship fittings.

I personally can recommend Red vs Blue - two corporations in eternal war in high sec (for fun!)
You join one side and have a lot of fights and fun in The Forge region.
You can join fleets or ask for 1v1 duels (which are respected by the community).

Add low sec and null sec roams weekly roams (RVB Ganked).

You can start PVP on day one, tackling frigates are always welcome in fleets.
That usually means T1 frigate with Warp Scrambler and Micro Warp Drive (MWD).

Wow where did that info come from !!!!
Tnx for the help.
Basically I can't make my mind up, if you have just short range stuff people can pick you off from a distance. Long range artillery means they can get in close and reem you !!!!

Not strong enough for PvP yet

Hey Laz, I was there too. Open up the market and start typing and learning. Soon enough there will be more for you to do.

It's all about experience. The more you play the more you'll learn what people like to use in which ships, and how those players behave when they're fitted out in certain ways. Once you start to pick these patterns up you then have to make the decision "Do I want to fight this?"

Just because someone warped on grid in low or null doesn't mean you're obligated to shoot them. Picking your fights is a big part of Eve, and it's how everyone who is successful at PvP avoids losing every other fight.

Are you a forum alt? Have you ever wondered why your experience on the forums is always so frustrating and unrewarding? This may help.

Yep and every patch or every time you come up against someone with a new idea what is best all changes.

Unlike missions where you build something and fly it forever.

its what makes it interesting.

dude as I've told you, join a (FW) corp.! most of them (including mine) have doctrine fits (ship to fly and mods to use) that will give you direction on your training and of course since it's their doctrine they know pretty well how to fly it (limitations and capabilities) and teach you how to use it.

imho, as a newb joining a corp. as early as I did helped me a lot, so I strongly suggest you do the same. o7
