Test Server Feedback

One thing I've noticed when using exefile to start Singularity is that there appears to be a delay - typically 3 to 5 seconds, but I've encountered up to 20 seconds - between the client opening and the login screen background loading. (Screenshot). Login screen functionality works just fine, and you can still login (though with the "processing" dialog also lacking background).

However, when you login without waiting for the background to load properly, what I've noticed happening rarely is that at some point after logging in, the login screen's background suddenly starts appearing "mixed in with" the game client. All UI elements (chat, overview, neocom, etc.) are still visible ("above" the top/bottom login screen bars), but part of 3D space is obstructed. The center login screen element (the "EVE" background) isn't visible at all (possibly hidden "behind" the 3D rendering plane?).
This seems to sometimes be triggered by the ESC menu closing, but I haven't been able to reproduce it reliably). I haven't been able to reproduce this reliably and didn't think to take a screenshot when it last happened - I'll post one the next time the issue occurs. In the meantime, this tinted version of the login screen illustrates which parts are overlayed over the rendering "layer".

CCP has made it clear they want to get rid of the login screen, the new store doesnt work if you use it now. This is probably a sign of its impending final termination. Prepare for "This program can only be run through the launcher" error messages soon.
