I'd much rather see a TV show about the EVE Universe focus on the initial colonization of New Eden. The colonization of the Milky Way, the discovery of the EVE gate, the start of the colonization of New Eden and subsequently the result of the EVE gate closing and leaving everyone stranded and eventually, at the end of the series, the first steps into space and the encounters with the other empires. From there we, the players, got to fill in the blanks.

That, imo, would be much much much more interesting than a TV show that translates gameplay into story driven narrative.

This is the true story... of seven strangers... picked to live in a house...work together and have their lives taped... to find out what happens... when people stop being polite... and start getting real...EVE: It's Real.

1) rather watch paint dry
2) would be hilarious, but would this only include successful or also the 95% of the failed scams?
3) too much swearing to fit under PEGI 12
4) even more swearing than 2, also high chance of religious propaganda being spewed
5) "Waiting for jump cap is the high point of my day!"
6) this would be awesome if done in the way as "real criminals" have a silhouette and changed voice
7) probably the best chance of actual content, but would boil down into "I'm going to plunder your exploration ship with my cynabal" vs. "Oops, +2 in local, better run and hide!"

Edit: I mean, there is a script to be had, but explaining how the game works would take a normal 42min (US) or 54min (EU) episode itself and the meaty part would most likely take too long to actually start. It could be run as an expanding story starting at one end of a supply chain (hi or null) and expanding on what dangers there are to get the chain finished, somewhat like this:

Null CEO "I need things here to erect a POS for supercaps"
Buys stuff, dodging all the "WTB PLEX 160MIL!" scams in local, acted by a shady looking dude trying to sell you cows as POS fuel or something.
Hisec freighter (alt obviously) hauls stuff from Jita, dodging suicide gankers on the way.
Swapping to a JF in some hisec system to jump to low to a midpoint cyno.
Dodging and/or fighting pirates at mid-point (drama requires to jump into a crowded system, not like you should do), possibly hot dropping capitals.
Finding out that a corp thief was actually flying that JF and manages to stal that + all the POS mods with fuel to a rival alliance.

Now that I typed it, it sounds boring or has to be heavily truncated to fit into 1-3 episodes. I guess hollywood eggheads would be able to write characters and their stories for 3 seasons before action starts.

I'd add one more to the list:

-A freighter pilot
-A scammer
-A null corp CEO
-Hisec ganker
-A capital pilot
-A corp thief
-A pirate
-A monkey spanking druggie who lives by transporting contraband

I'd play the last part...

While all the big action would be in huge fleet fights that would make Michael Bay and JJ Abrams scorch their shorts, for the best mix of action, storyline and drama it would be better to focus on some smaller gang action / interaction. You would really become invested in something like that where you could develop a few characters / storylines versus trying to personify the 1000 man blob under tidi for 20 hours.

But who am I kidding... itll be the BoB disband thing again.

I believe Clear Skies had a compelling storyline, though dated now, all three films are good.

I'm actually writing an original screenplay about my character, though it's not set in the EVE universe...

"One hundred years after a mass exodus from a dying Earth, a beautiful and resourceful star pilot uncovers an incredible secret that could end the brutal galactic civil war which threatens to extinguish humanity forever. "

The cast of characters is muti-ethnic and range in ages from late teens to early 70's. There are no alien races, no overly fantastical elements at play. It's a story of two mighty factions locked in perpetual combat, each fighting for their own perceived concept of freedom and order, an epic fight for survival told from two different perspectives, each with their own moral shades of gray.

Now if I can only bend Hollywood to my will...

Any EVE movie doesn't have to be expensive.

Case in point: BABYLON 5.

All those years ago, five (5) Amiga computers slaved together to do the graphics and a bunch of mobile stage sets that were regularly rearranged to create new parts of "the station".

That was it, give or take a few rubber plants. Blink

Though I would Love to see a film based on Eve Online, I can understand why CCP holds it near and dear to their hearts. Let's face it, there has not been much success in bring games to the "big screen". Many times, the writers are not familiar about the games they are writing a movie production for and the story gets lost in the creative process to a point where it does little justice for true fans.

I will tell you what my idea for the first film in what I believe should be a series of films. The first film should start at the very beginning of the "Space Race", using actual historical news footage and progressing with notable achievements in space exploration, and cutting to war footage (showing how diverse and cold humans can be), then it transitions to our near future where humans begin to come together across the political and ethical divide, as we branch outside our star system(highlighted with fictional news coverage), then moves forward to FTL travel and the depletion of natural resources, then through time to the discovery of the Eve Gate and eventual collapse, so it ties our actual history to the fictional history of Eve Online, and in the process broadens the viewing audience to others that may not be familiar with the game. I have let my imagination run wild with how I would tell this story over the years. It would really have to be no less they a trilogy though. Oh, and of course, I am sure that it would be easy enough to tie the first movie to one protagonist, possibly one that has scientific evidence that the Eve Gate is unstable and sent to investigate, to see for the first time , all the wonder and mystery, (I see James Cameron special effects for Planetary terraforming) on the other side that he/she has only read about until that time.

All this while the music plays....

It´s been a long road, getting from there to here.
It´s been a long time, but my time is finally near.
And I can feel the change in the wind right now. Nothing´s in my way.
And they´re not gonna hold me down no more, no they´re not gonna hold me down.

Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.

It´s been a long night. Trying to find my way.
Been through the darkness. Now I finally have my day.
And I will see my dream come alive at last. I will touch the sky.
And they´re not gonna hold me down no more, no they´re not gonna change my mind.

Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.

I´ve known the wind so cold, and seen the darkest days.
But now the winds I feel, are only winds of change.
I´ve been through the fire and I´ve been through the rain.
But I´ll be fine.

Cause I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith.

I´ve got faith of the heart.
I´m going where my heart will take me.
I´ve got strength of the soul. And no one´s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star. I´ve got faith, I´ve got faith, faith of the heart.

It´s been a long road.

Is that what you really want?

I know I dont.
