Stupid questions of the day.

With the latest and greatest MTU and crime watch iteration, does shooting someone's drones call down the wrath of concord?

I am assuming it still does.

And if that is the case can your typical gank fit cat pop them before the hammer falls?

Lastly are the mission bots even using them? Or not even worth scanning for?

Unless you or a corpmember has access/useage rights,
or the pilot is suspect, CONCORD will roflstomp you.

Mission runners ain't gonna use them because

A) AI eats drones now

B) they are twice the size (and use twice the bandwith) of standard heavy drones/sentries.

And yeah, shooting somebody's drones is just like shooting their can, or wreck. CONCORDOKKEN unless they Suspect or Criminal, etc.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

I sold all mine, I don't plan on ever using them, and I'd venture to guess that most missioners won't either. Some might if they don't understand their drawbacks, but not likely too many. Beyond that, yeah, it would be just like suicide ganking the ship itself.

CONCORD rules are pretty silly here. Property destruction is a suspect offense if it is a depolyable, and a criminal offense if it is a spaceship or a drone or a jetcan or a wreck. (IMO it should be a redcard for an occupied spaceship or a drone that is active, and yellow for anything else).

If in doubt, set safety to green and try it. Then, if safety does not let you do it, set safety to yellow and try again.

Ahh, the fun we could have if shooting wrecks we had no rights to only drew a yellow card. Cool

Geckos are, and will remain, the absolute best drone for use in PVE (and most PVP situations). Their tracking is amazing, their EHP is much higher than 2 heavies, the "oversized" drone part lets you smash in EVEN MORE DPS, did I mention the DPS is amazingly OP until kronos, and oh yeah... the pricetag is no barrier to entry.

But yeah, fly a catalyst in and blow up 100m worth of them and die laughing.

This is exactly what I had in mind. Though was hoping it only drew yellow cards. And even better that it never generates a kill mail to blemish the history of a alt at market.
