Uplifting True Story: A Minmatar Slave Becomes a Chosen of God!

Twelve days ago, a Vherokior wrench-turner turned to the Brutor valve-lubricator chained next to him, raised his wrench, and then brought it down upon the Brutor's head. Neither the overseer-drones present nor the slaver hounds moved to stop him. When the Vherokior was done, the overseer-drones pushed the three other slaves who had witnessed the event out the nearest airlock. A few hours later, the Vherokior was brought before the altar at one of my sacrificial chambers. I was waiting. He lowered his eyes; the beating he had gotten the one time he dared lift his eyes in the presence of a Chosen had taught him that lesson real quick.

—Why did you do this?

—He was Minmatar. He is subhuman filth. He existed only to glorify God in his destruction, and he will be butchered in Hell for all eternity.

—And you?

—I am Minmatar. I am subhuman filth. I exist only to glorify God in my destruction, and I will be butchered in Hell for all eternity.

—And so filth is given dominion over filth, now?

—I—

—Don't answer.

I took a portable holo-projector out from under my robes and put it on the altar. The Vherokior watched as it played the cam-drone footage from the hardpoint maintenance access room where he had killed the Brutor. He watched himself beat the Brutor with the wrench and then watched himself bite the Brutor's neck and drink the Brutor's blood.

—Tell me why you did this. I waited a long time for him to speak:

—God has given the Minmatar over to destruction. The blood of the Brutor will give us strength. You say that every time we watch you sacrifice—

—Us? And you think you're one of the us now? Again, I waited a long time for him to speak:

—Every time at the sacrifice, you say something I couldn't ever understand:

My word lies within all,
All it requires is the breath of faith,
To ignite the fire,
So the lost can find their way,
So the fallen can rise,
To take their place as my chosen,
For you are all my creation,
And are all equal in my kingdom.

—But I am Minmatar. I am subhuman filth. I exist—

He slowly lifted up his eyes and looked me in the face. Pointing at the holo-projector, he said:

—In that moment, I understood what you mean—to take my place as God's Chosen.

—Show me again.

I snapped my fingers and in came two slaves dragging a Sebiestor naked from the waist up whom they strapped to the altar. Then they left. I tossed a knife unto the altar and took a control pad out from under my robes. I raised the pad, looked the Vherokior squarely in the eye, and pressed the button that released his chains.

In a flash he grabbed the knife and in a vicious motion swung it up and then down through the Sebiestor's chest, spattering blood all over himself and me. Then he put his mouth to the wound and fed. I waited until he finished, then took out from under the altar a necklace bearing a golden vial.

—This is for you, the symbol of the Faith. I have already filled a third of it with the blood of the Brutor you killed this morning; fill another third with the blood of this Sebiestor here. We'll get you the blood of your own people soon enough.

Raising the control panel again, I pushed another button and the Vherokior's glaive-collar fell to the floor.

—No more are you a slave, I said. Now you are Chosen of God.

Not a chosen of god, a chosen of nature.
Place many inside a cage and give freedom to the one who kills the others and you achieve not a miracle but an inevitability. The Vherokior is no more than the weakest minded and the most afraid to have broken when others held their sanity. He has the will to survive however, and so he will until placed into the larger cage and his 'faith' tested again.

No different from how Kameiras are raised. Or anyone who must be zealot to an ideal.

Title of the thread should read: choice between god and death continues to produce a percentage of original population as 'uplifted/saved'

I would have rather read the story of a Brutor who's life was given so his friend could stab you in the heart.

Of course, had the Vherokior wrench-turner raised his wrench not toward his fellow slaves but toward me or another of the Chosen or even the overseer-drones, instantly his neck would have been pierced by toxin-injecting spikes from the glaive-collar, his body ripped apart by slaver hounds and whatever was left whipped by his overseer's electric lash. And being chained, he would not have been able to reach anyone anyway had all of the previous control mechanisms failed.

My overseer-drones are well programmed and my slaver hounds well trained to recognize the difference between slave-on-slave violence, which is secretly permitted as an initiation into the Faith, and slave-on-anything-else violence which is met with extreme response.

Fortunately, my slave conditioning has become so finely tuned and my slave drugging so scientific and exacting that slave-on-non-slave violence is non-existent.

I won't lie, this is really an uplifting story. There is now at least one Minmattar in New Eden that Mister Nauplius tolerates. Even if he is as mean as Mister Nauplius. Glad you made a new friend!

At this rate, maybe you will stop being so mean.

Wouldn't bet on that.

Ah, yes. A heartwarming tale of insanity, indoctrination, murder and Stockholm Syndrome. Critics are calling it the "most disturbing thing I've ever seen" and "what the frak oh god those poor people."

Nauplius I'm going to enjoy it so much on the day that someone, hopefully a relative of one of your victims, bashes a Khumaak into your thick skull.

You are truly the sickest, most twisted piece of crap I've ever had the displeasure of coming into contact with. I wish it were within my power to exterminate you like the vermin you are.

I hope you have pockets under your robes, otherwise I don't want to know where you stored that holo-projector.

With a name like Uplifiting True Story was anyone else wondering if he was about to expose himself as an Agent of Nation?

Far from the most disturbing, but otherwise, right on.

My sister would probably say something along the lines that it's just another proof that every Amarrian needs to be shot in the head or something, but really. If one just kills some of the lunatics and cultists, more take their place and nothing changes. Waste of ammo unless paid well.

Also, Blood Raiders. That particular brand of Amarr nutjobs never ceases to deliver.

Thank you once again for showing us all how "intelligent" and "diplomatic" minmatars are.

Now would you be so kind to go back to your slave pen and don't disturb public with your minmatarish behavior.
Thanks in advance!

Ms. Kim, shut the **** up.

Gods and spirits.

This is it.

This is the day we finally found someone so repulsive and objectionable even Ammatar and Minmatar are backing each other up.
