Pictures taken between 1909-1915 using a method that would enable the pictures to be made color just recently (pretty clever of the photographer, really). An amazing look back into history:

Red, green and blue filters, eh? He probably couldn't do much with them back then. Then now, I'd guess the process would be set them at 33% alpha channel transparency and layer them ontop of each other more or less. All the different shades of those three base colors would bring out the various colors.

"Computer vision technology"... pattern recognition. Probably used to align the images, gauge depth of shadow and adjustment of global shading based on a sample color tone (e.g. skin color patch). Then the final process as above. Good stuff!

edit: I suppose he could have projected them onto a wall back then. Sort of like stereo sound, but same thing with projection to build a full color representation just the same. Would have been pretty advanced for the time.

Ugh! The browser at work does not complete the generation of the pics. Only the first 4 are fully generated.
