To those of you who are doubting the sincerity of the artwork held in the logo, please continue reading, I will try to address this issue.

Abstract art is open to interpretation, and that is one of the beautiful things about it. It allows the viewer to use her own imagination to find meaning in what might superficially lack it. To find patterns where there are none. To let go of overused stagnated ideas. There is no fixed right or wrong way to look at art or understand it, but you need to keep an open mind to do so.
This logo doesn't stand out and scream "this is what we're about", it leaves it open for the viewer to decide, to make up her own mind on what to become, in true spirit of a sandbox game. You can be anyone you want to be. It can be anything you want it to be. It is like clay to your mind.

Isaiah 64:8
"But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand."

It is not as much about the subject as about the feeling it invokes.
When I look at the Hydra Reloaded logo, I know in my heart that it represents more, much more, than first meets the eye. The fluid deep strokes caress my mind and leaves me in a state of awe.

One viewer of this artwork once described it to me like so: "It is a child! A young boy playfully blowing on his pinwheel!"
This is what Hydra is about to that person, reinforcing that feeling of pristine happiness that so many "adults" seem to loose. To be able to realize dreams once long forgotten, ideas long lost. But this is only one person. You may find a different meaning. This is art.

Revelation 21:11
"Having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal"

I completely stand behind this wonderful piece of art, and believe it would be a fine addition to the current content of EVE Online, just as it already has been in the community for a long time.

But thats the whole thing, you cannot objectively JUDGE the logo because you are not in the position to do so! No one is! When you say "ur logo is absolutely atrodcious" that is just your subjective opinion on the logo. You may be confusing complexity and difficulty to draw for artistic or representational merit. Our logo may not be too difficult in that sense to draw, but that doesn't make it any worse; it also still represents us perfectly.

Also, I have a right mind to report you for trying to evade the profanity filter. Just count yourself lucky I'm in a good mood today!

The universe needs an alliance with a logo which does not have its true beauty hidden under layers of cruddy photoshop filters.

HYDRA RELOADED is this alliance.

Normally I would be against something that took only a couple seconds to whip up in MSPaint, regardless of it's history.

but

then I saw Cascade Imminent's logo. If something as dumb as that can be considered an alliance logo then I'm all for Hyrda provilling in this case.

Remove the bevel of the red lines and it may be ok.

However I hope CCP fixes some more urgent things first.

So what if the logo looks like crap?

It's our logo and we want it, it shouldn't matter how crap it looks.
It's no way offensive or racist so there's no reason to reject other
than CCP thinks it's crap.

The logo which you are trying to submit looks as though it has essentially been made with Microsoft Paint, and it probably was.

Logos of other major alliances which you showed us all look very professional on the most part and are also pretty unique, such as the logo of Goonswarm Federation. Your logo on the other hand looks vastly unprofessional and certainly doesn't come across as unique.

Find a few artists in your alliance, challenge them to come up with several concept designs of a logo that would suit your alliance, and then reward the person who designs the best logo in some way.

you see we already have found one that suits us - that's why this thread exists :)
the greatest reward imaginable for the author and everyone supporting her creation is the inclusion of the logo in EVE

Hydra Reloaded totally deserves the right to have it's own logo. And no other logo will reflect the essence of this great allice as good as the one that is already their flag for so long. I demand justice! This logo is far more informative than many others, has it's own legend behind it, is artistic (in my opinion it surely is), and was on stage for so long, that everyone who knows about Hydra Reloaded knows that logo.

CCP i vote this logo to be in EVE-Online. This logo is a part of this great game for too long to be ignored.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

The ships in EVE tend towards asymmetrical designs - people find them "odd" and "don't like them" - they want symmetry - sleek angles and shapes in use. bumpy, lumpy, out of easy pattern matching... That doesn't go over with many players because it doesn't sit easily on the eye. Yet CCP's original designs were purposefully "a bit off" with respect to ease of "human" pattern matching for the models. This is a bit farther afield but it also does have a sense of style to it.

Symmetry and the like is quite easy to reproduce with computer technologies. Simply patterns and filters to generate "pretty" logos and the like. Any moron can put a "stylish" logo together with ease using any free through high-end paint tool and scale it however they choose.

That one would take some time and be far more difficult to reproduce due to it's "hand drawn" style.

I may not like hydra's logo much but I do see it's value. It is "different" - very different from any other logo in the game. It does stand out.

Literally - who does it hurt and in what way?
- It's not obscene, it's just oddly "ugly"
- 2 years using it without recognition? That's tenacity if nothing else - all done in EVE.

A PvP group that's been around that long, with a logo they refuse to give up, no matter what others think of it... Yeah, I'd say with the small amount of effort that CCP has to invest... Why not give it to them?
