They could make it that whole action would take place in the space, and we would never see the capsuleers, only the ships they fly. Would get really interesting.

But talking more seriously, how would you fit ships there with capsuleers in them? Imagine whole Star Trek series only Picard talking to himself or other Federation Ship Captains. No bridge or something like that. How you will depict capsuleer characters battle in space and not look like it looks in EVE, ships can't do much acting, they are not actors. P

If you know Dune, then you can say that capsuleers are similar to Navigators and you have seen them in a Dune TV series right? Whole action for EVE TV series would be centered around non capsuleers. We would be a distant smirk of lore, something what you can depict in a 5 seconds trailer. This would be a different kind of experience, not something what we know from this game right now flying in space. Something similar to chronicles, if you have read one of them.

Beyond that, there wouldnt be any hint of a meta, JJ has openly stated on his involvement with star trek and the new star wars that he hates things that are too intellectual, or make you think about whats going on. His whole purpose with the star trek remakes was to turn it into something more funsplosion than trek, because he hated deep story, preferring faster-paced "action/adventure" types.

So if he did the TV show, it would be all of 12 episodes long, and just focus on nameless nobodies making pretty explosions for no clearly defined or overarching reason, just disconnected episode by episode meaningless fights.

I'm not sure that you can consider the new Star Trek movies to be any less intellectual than the original Star Trek series, or rather that you can argue that the original series was more intellectual than the recent remakes. You're not seriously arguing that fornicating with blue aliens in episode one, and then fornicating with red aliens in episode two, and then fornicating with blue AND red aliens in episode three is actually an attempt at social commentary, right? Shatner is a good looking guy and all, but him having his shirt off while fighting a rock monster is not an attempt at allegory reflecting on Cold War tensions between the US and the USSR.

That said, I'd also not want GRR Martin writing anything for an EvE TV series. It'd be loaded with incestuous relationships and all of the characters not involved in such relationships would be killed off.

Im not saying i have an opinion either way, im saying what JJ HIMSELF said, and thats that he hated the original movies and wanted to steer as far away from anything that might be considered intellectual/thought-provoking as possible.

Hes basically Michael Bay 2.0, who makes the CoD equivalent to movies.

I always said the BEST way to do an EVE TV series would eb to focus on the lore, have battles between the Amarr and Minmatar, show some of the instability at the higher levels of the Amarr government.

That way Capsuleers and their threat, coudl eb treated like the shadow guys from babylon 5, hinted at but not seen aside from maybe one or two super important plot points. Most of the focus being on the not-immortal.

And then you can end the series (or a season, either way) with a big smash-up fight between PL and the Amarr Fleet.

EVE ~= DS9

Minmatar = Bajorans
Amarr = Cardassians
Caldari = Ferengi
Gallente = Humans
Jovians = The Dominion
Concord = Federation
Doc Fury = Odo
UaE = Quark

Considering how completely racist DS9 is, some of these are ******* hilarious, but utterly wrong, sorry babes lol

Well, if Mittani, just like Shatner, would be battling Dinsdale who would throw enormous stones at him, it would definitely be a comedy series.

I think best way for a series would be to focus on a crew of a frigate that gets caught up in events, getting lost in a wormhole, going through a odyssey in the drone regions, escaping pirates and being hopelessly outclassed by and in awe of Capsuleers.

It is to eternal sadness that the person who should be writing about ships in space has passed away. The only person I can think of that could do EvE justice would of been Iain M Banks. After all are we not minds? is our game not culture?

can confirm that many of us early developers were Babylon 5 fans. But I think the influence is fairly minimal, the only thing I can say for certain was an influence was the relationship between Minmatar and Amarr, which is similar to Narn and Centauri.

The more generic TOS plot would be one of them being the blue alien and get bonked by the other.

And im not sure Komákur is ready for that kind of carrer change Lol

Edit: as for the Eve/DS9 analogies.. DS9 is way to straightforward and stable in politics... B5 would be more adequate i guess.

I mean Londo and Gkar... that is Amarr/Minma history basically written before anybody else thought about Eve.

Damnit MeBitch was quicker with that.
