The price for the new PLEX Activation Codes is the same as the ETC. For example the 30 day ETC is the same price as the 1 x 30 day PLEX Activation code and the 60 day ETC is the same price as the 2 x 30 day PLEX Activation code. These scale accordingly depending on the number of PLEX contained within the PLEX Activation Code.

As for the price of PLEX it has remained the same outside of a promotional offer where the price would be lower. There has been no increase to PLEX prices purchased from us or our partners.

This is rubbish.

One 60 day GTC would cost me approximately £21.00 which I could then exchange for 2 plex (redeemed in game).

After your change to the system 2x plex will always cost £29.99

Dont try to hide this for what it is.
Pure and simple price hike.

How the mighty have fallen :(

This will be confusing. Plex(item) is illegal to buy, but PLEX(code) is OK.

Can you confirm please if it's possible to convert Plex back to Plex Code - the conversion of Plex to GTC was the secure way to move plex if that option is no longer available I foresee many more Plex lost during transport which if I were cynical (and I mostly am) I think is part of the reason for the change.

Will we ever see the ability to extend another pilots account using a code or plex?

Thinking it would be so nice if I could activate a plex from my side on someone elses account (my alt accounts really) instead of having to log on to extend them all the time.

This, currently ETC are much cheaper than PLEX if your going to increase all the prices just come out and say it.

there needs to be much more clarity here.

Not sure if allowed to post this here but is relevant.

It looks like I may have jumped the gun and if so my apologies to CCP for my comments.

...this is of course providing I can still purchase 2 month GTC (PAC) codes for approx £21.00.

(would still prefer eve with no isk for cash though - makes it feel more worth it)

I want to know this as well. Is game time going away?

I want to buy a year of game time from amazon, will I still be able to do this? Reason being, I want game time - NOT plex. I have no desire to use plex for anything other than game time.

You will still be able to purchase subscription game time from Amazon from a full account of any activity status. This new PLEX Activation Code will have no impact on this.

Thanks for the clarification.

So you have just completely screwed over the UK players where it will now cost twice as much as it did before for the same amount of time.

Gtc for 60 days cost me $35 because i could buy from.any site. Now it will cost me £30 which is about $50 . Unless we can buy at dollar cost still if not then Guess this now makes it impossible for me to continue to keep subbing

Do what I do, just reverse redeem them on all accounts, then you can activate them one by one from the account website. You can pay for a 12 month sub with 12 PLEX so then you only have to do it once a year. And if the account expire you don't have to use hours for PLEX either.

Not sure what you're on about but any official GTC/PLEX reseller has 2 PLEX on sale for 34 dollars or so. That's 20 or so pounds for you. Prices were the same for GTC. If your retailer is making you pay 30 pounds for 2 PLEX, go find a new retailer because the current one is overcharging by a LOT.

Still, there are better and cheaper ways of buying game time than using GTC or PLEX...

Except it is not. At least outside of Dollar payments.

Not even for the things you sell yourself on amazon.

Currently 1 Month ETC from Seller CCP Games on German Amazon is: 15,17 EUR, while one PLEX from CCP Games is 17,99 EUR.

12 months ETC are 132,91 EUR, while 12 PLEX are 179,99 EUR.

Whenever you go somewhere and compare non-dollar PLEX and ETC prices you end up with a huge difference that can not be tracked to currency conversion.

Care to explain yourself CCP?

The price for a single PLEX is even higher on eveonline.com itself at 19,99 euro while all third party retailers have them at 14,60 euro. While I never really understood the difference in prices, nothing is prohibiting CCP from charging different rates on different platforms. Just as there is nothing stopping you from just buying your codes or PLEX or gametime from the cheapest legal source.

I mean, you play EVE Online. Surely you know how to compare prices?

So, stupid question, but what exactly is the point? I never understood 3rd party retailers for eve, except Amazon, which i myself use since i can buy cards in stores with cash for it. So, again, what is the point? Why does CCP sell them to others that will sell them cheaper instead of just dropping the price themselves?

I'd like to know this as well.

What is the reason or thought process behind selling codes to third party retailers who then resell it for you? Surely anyone wanting to play EVE knows how to find its website and purchase game time there?

And to go deeper into this, why are the prices between different places so wildly different?

Why would you transfer an item that can be activated from literally anywhere in EVE? As long as it's in your assets, you can right-click and use it. Works even when you are in a wormhole.

I still would need to log on to the account to reverse redeem them tho so I could just activate them directly there instead.

But I see other ways of "remote account activation" as well, holding contests and giving out one month as a prize, that would allow me to be sure that the account gets time rather than someone selling the plex.
