Was cool meeting the Doc at the Fanfest pub crawl. I shook him by the hand at least twice and told him how I liked his work. Good luck at your new post and hope to see you at fanfest in future, if only as a non staff member.

but

are they gonna repleace him? EG explained that EvE is at a turning point right now, that the economy is in a dangerous state of near deflation, and he wants to do stuff to get it going again.

So...what now? Are we going by the "good luck"-rule or are they bringing someone new in?

I await some confirmation that he is actually leaving, but if he is, I imagine that CCP will just outsource managing the Eve economy to the goons. CCP is half-way down that path anyway.

Dinsdale Dinsdale your mind is insanely twisted.

It's really poor taste to do this in here. Please apply some judgement, and show a just a small amount of civility.

Gl in the new job anyway Dr Eggy.

Hopefully he is replaced by someone equally enthusiastic.

Truly sad to see you go Dr. EyjoG,

Your enthusiasm for the EVE Economy was a fantastic thing and will be missed. I hope this change comes from personal interests and not anything going wrong at CCP.

Here's hoping that your replacement can carry your torch even close to how high you carried it.

Yeah, me too. Being Rector of a University is a really great step in a career

I can see what you see not - vision milky then eyes rot. When you turn they will be gone - whispering their hidden song.

The emaciated forms of all those that have not bowed to the will of CCGoon line the paths in the Valley of Dinsdale.

But remember, as it says in the Amarr Scriptures(Junip 2:17 if I remember correctly):

Even though I walk through the Valley of Dinsdale, I will fear no conspiracy, for he is crazy; his total lack of logic and general silliness, they comfort me.

Heart = broken. Up until recently, the only fanfest videos I watched were the economy ones. Totally over my head, but his talks were pretty much the first time I took any interest in economics.

Our lovely warm, fuzzy, stupidly intelligent Dr Eggman leaving? It hasn't sunk in yet. Feel a bit numb Sad

A serious lack of "frame of reference" for one. Nothing replaces years of experience of keeping your eyes on the numbers every day.

A new "economist", if not from within CCP already... will be severely "clueless" for a good long time. BE AFRAID of that.

Dr Eyjo was not working alone, if he is a man of science and very intelligent, than it should be clear that he appointed a successor in CCP.
