Crazy metagaming idea: Hack the clone vats.

Would CCP want to create an in-game meta gaming mechanic, where, if you find where a characters clone vat is, you can hack it, and secretly moved it elsewhere, have them revive in a new clone, far from their belongings, and support :P

How about you can cancel someone's clone contract before you pod them so they lose all the SPs? Now that would be crazy!

In that case, the damage should be limited to the damage done if you forget to upgrade your new clone. I don't remember the specifics, but it is only a few percent of your SP that is lost. Still, a few percent can add up fast for old toons.

I think you are using "meta-gaming" incorrectly. This sounds like a mini game, and the rules for it seem arbitrary. Where is the actual risk of attempting the clone hack?

Getting caught by the clone police and mulched into biomass after they remove your capsuleer implants with a pair of locking pliers.

I always felt it would be good to say, take a whizz in an enemy clone vat so everybody gets p!ssed off. Lol


Think about that.

One thing that's been "breaking" about clones for me is that a clone vat is like some endless spigot of biomass. It would be better if they ran on a "mass in mass out" balance whereby the more cloning it does, the more corpses you have to feed it, and let one's skills (or rigs or whatever is in the mechanics around it) determine the "efficiency" of this process such that say someone not up to skill on clone vat management would lose a percentage of biomass going in.

It would certainly lend importance to the frozen corpse and perhaps even change some doctrines regarding AOE weapons since the corpses will be "needed".

This idea is right up there with having DUST players board your ship and eject your pod without any way to defend against it.





So this pretty much sums up my feelings on the subject.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
