Dr Eyjo, the wonderful economist for EVE Online is leaving CCP for a new job at a university in Iceland. I am very sad to see yet another valued part of the community leave CCP but wish him well with his new job.

No official announcement from CCP on this news as per usual but you can read a little more about it on the Mittani blogsite.

I still miss his quarterly reports.

Of all the departures in the last months, this is probably the first one that can potentially have an actual impact on the game as a whole.

Whatever.
In my eyes he is a narcissist who had all the opportunities of a virtual economy ...... and didn't deliver.

Old school economics good bye!

He had a chance to become a rector, he just did the right thing. Luved his presentations and reading around the web news and articles about the EVE economy that necessarily included some interview to him or extract from his devblogs or whatever.

I'm sure even if he doesn't think so, one day he'll miss this man: http://i.imgur.com/FvL0a.jpg

Well, gotta wish him good luck now o7

Darn... the man will be missed.

Of course it *might* just be possible that he will be replaced but it is more likely that all those juicy economic reports will go the way of the chronicles.

Yes, those QEN's were literally a license to print ISK when properly gamed... in many ways, it was like taking a lecture from the Good Doctor.

Best wishes always in his future pursuits.
