How to link fitting from tab

The fitting tab on ships now shows the items fitted and such (like the fitting window does for your active ship, but now it also does it for ships in your hangar and such), how do I get a link to this in the chat? Or import it to a saved fitting?

Just drag the fitting name (under the ship type in the heirarchy) into the part of the chat window where you type something.

As stated above the best way to link fits is to save the fitting of your ships and then to drag the name of said ship from the saved fittings and into your chosen chat window.

So I have to fly to where my ship is, board it, save the fit, then link the fit from the fitting window? Even though the fitting info is right there in the ship properties?

IIRC that is correct, you have to be in a ship to save it's fitting.

I have been away for a while so my memory may play a trick on me but I seem to remember you can drag the current fitting into the chat box. Try dragging the name of your ship from the fitting screen.
