I hope they leave the Navy Geddon alone. I liked the old Geddon a lot.

Pretty sure they kept it that way precisely so you could continue to have your old ship.

Armageddons often hit the field when there is a big fight with logi on the field for both sides. 7 heavy neuts goes a long way to helping your fleet break the spider tank. The fact that it reaches ~37 km as well means you don't even have to worry about being very mobile and your large rack of low slots will make it very easy for your logi to not only get reps on you but even use you to bait tank. In some cases where you may need to worry about a Curse being primaried and killed before it catches reps the Geddon checks its armor gauge and laughs in the aggressor's face and no other ship will match the neuting power and range of those two short of a Bhalgorn which has more power but needs to be closer. The extra bonus is that if your Geddon does go down it insures nicely while a Bhalgorn/Curse does not.

TBH i feel it's arguably the best battleship at the moment for PvP and if not it's certainly one that sees a good deal of use in small gang for reasons above. The Domi can do most of what the Armageddon does but the neut range bonus puts the Armageddon on top for the role I would use either ship for in PvP, but that could just be me. DPS addition from drones is not overwhelming but nothing to scoff at either. I hated the Geddon changes when they were announced but I have to admit it really grew on me.

Now if only I had had the foresight to buy them in bulk when they were still 55 million ISK.

Reality has an almost infinite capacity to resist oversimplification.

The main thing to keep in mind, is that while it does have a range bonus, it actualy nuets for LESS than any 8-highslot nuet fit BS (like an Abaddon) since it has no bonus to nuet amount. Thus 'geddons are best when fighting mid/long range ships that are somewhat mobile (other BSs, BCs and cruisers). Against capitals especialy, but also any sort of brawling ship (blaster boats and armor BCs and the like) any nuet amount bonused ship is going to be better, or a resist bonused 8 high slot BS (abaddon being the most popular).

That theorethycal abaddon of yours, besides haveing way shorter range on neuts.. will do near zero dps. WHile the geddon still can dish a VERY reasonable DPS ammount.

Who cares? It's role in that scenario isn't to apply DPS. Infact, by dropping the hardeners on an enemy ship you will end up doing alot more damage then before, more than making up for the loss of DPS on the Abaddon.

Its role isn't to deal DPS... but if you have two pilots capable of flying Amarr in a small gang you'll get more out of having both of them in 'geddons than having one in a neut Abaddon and one in a damage Abaddon - and because the threat of switching off hardeners is an important consideration the added redundancy is also of value.

lost my blingageddon the other night; going to refit another soon using these recommendations for pve, with a Micro Warp Drive for those missions that love to put you in the middle of everyone. Also, Geckos are amazing!

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.
