How to find 3/10 and 4/10 sites?

I had my first journey into lowsec today, however i am not pleased with the lack of results. I want to run combat sites, i found a quietish section of lowsec, and spent 4 hours probing down numerous .1-.3 systems and have yet to find a 3/10 or 4/10, all i can find are 1/10 and 2/10. people tell me low sec and null are so much better than high sec, but i couldve just spent those 4 hours making about 750 mil running incursions. what am i doing wrong?

A) Random Number Generator hates you and you're just unlucky
B) All the decent sites have been farmed by locals already

However it;s my understanding that if you find a decent site you could make quite a bit of money selling the deadspace mods

You've got high expectations. When it comes to DED sites it's a gamble if you get a payout anyway, so if you're looking for pure isk incursions in highsec are better. On top of that the lowsec DED's seem to be the hardest to find. I've no idea why though. Only running nullsec DED's with a couple of accounts or a small specialised gang can really compare to hisec incursions in isk/hour.

If 3/10 and 4/10 are your goals, you don't need to go to low sec. Those sites can be found in high sec as well. There are of course also 5/10 and 6/10 in low sec IIRC.

When I'm looking for 3/10 and 4/10 I just plot a long course around the edge of a high/low border in high sec and scan 10 or 15 systems until I find one.
