Hello folks!

In Kronos we will be releasing an updated in-game store!

The New Eden Store (previously known as the NEX Store) is part of a revamp and simplification of how we offer items like ship skins, clothing and, in the future, services like character re-sculpting and multiple character training. We plan to offer a number of interesting and unique items through the store, and eventually include many of the services you now use through Account Management and through the PLEX right-click menu.

To improve the user experience, the Noble Exchange store will be replaced with the New Eden Store and we will move all AURUM currency (AUR) from characters into your account. The store will be a place where you the player (as opposed to your characters) will shop.

In this first step, you’ll be able to use AUR to purchase various items such as custom ship skins and apparel. In the future you will be able to use either AUR or PLEX to pay for various items and services through this store. All AUR in all your character’s wallets will be collected and added to the AUR balance on your user account where it can spent by any characters on that account. Any AURUM tokens or PLEX that are yet to be converted to AUR will not be touched, but after the change converting these will add the AUR to your combined users balance and not to the character who converts it.

How to access the New Eden Store
1. Launch singularity via the launcher.

2. Select the New Eden Store Button on the character selection screen OR Select the New Eden Store in the Neocom under 'business'

The New Eden Store is available on SISI now, and we will be collecting feedback here.

Thanks!

I looked at it for a bit, much easier to use and the filters allow to find what you want fast.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Comments:

Still to big. Why does it take up the full screen?

New items and clothing don't have rendering yet.

Access points worked.

Access point on the character selected screen jumped from the left to the right and stayed there.

More items pleaseTwisted

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

See you around the universe.

I still think it's ugly. It looks like some kind of smartphone app and it overlays everything! Touch interface on PC *facepalm*
EDIT: You should get together with the GNOME developers. They know best how to **** up a user interface. Smile
EDIT 2: Even WoW has a better shop Sad That is really embarrassing.

I think it looks pretty good. Putting it under the "business" section will mean it's probably forgotten, though. Maybe give it its own section of the base Neocom menu?

Looks better than the UI of the NEX store. But the whole shop is still a waste of development time and makes EVE feel like a ****** f2p game. Please remove the button from the character selection screen and hide this shameful thing in the Neocom, where we can ignore it peacefully.

Feedback:

There is no "close" button if you have selected an item and if the selected item is a ship skin, it's still just a picture, not a model viewer.

Scrolling now works everywhere (nice)

Switching between categories requieres repeated clicking:

If "battleship" and "amarr" is selected

selecting "cruiser" selects all cruisers

and after that "amar" has to be clicked twice to select only amarr cruisers the first click doesn't do anything as far as I can see.

Also the category thing isn't consistent: variations by race or gender are toggles but the types of size or apparel piece are not.

Unrelated: if this is the pilot for a new general interface design please, be very careful and shoot this by the CSM and think about massive amounts of customization. This current store design... I don't like it. But it's more functional than last time.

And the worst thing is, that you move all AUR to one pool. I have a even number of AUR on my main and a little bit on my alt. Now that you combine them I have to buy stuff and new aur to get it even again! I hate odd numbers!!!!1!11!

Can you please remove 250 AUR from my account?

It is with some measure of resigned sadness that I see that the EVE developers, a group of people I universally respect and admire, have missed an opportunity, on consecutive attempts now, to create an uplifting user experience where it comes to offering a superior shopping environment. I wonder why that is.

New Eden is a universe of unsurpassed marvel, of besotting beauty, of mesmerising complexity, created by people of whom we cannot make any other assumption than that they are kissed by the gods themselves. There is no other explanation for their ability to create a universe that makes the heart sing with joy, the soul rise with boisterous bravado, the spirit lifted by the sheer exuberant zest for life that makes me take to the space lanes with the boundless happiness of a newborn calf cavorting across the meadow on the first glorious day of Spring. EVE Online is an act of digital love making on a global scale.

This is why it is nothing short of baffling to see that this power of divine creation does not, or at least not noticeably, extends to the profane art of selling products to customers. I am presented with an interface, a box to click and complete a transaction. The pristine minds that give us the ephemeral beauty of the lush garden of New Eden appear to be coy where it comes to enticing us, the valued customer, with an incentive to part with our hard-earned [insert your local currency].

Why am I not lured to the Nobel exchange, or whatever the moniker du jour is, with an irresistible value proposition? Why am I not bedazzled with a buyer experience that makes it seem as if the late, great Steve Jobs was still among us? How is this online store not filled to the brim with all manner of goodies and services that inspires us to throw our credit card at the screen?

We are presented with an early 18th century Reykjavik fish market:

“Hey, Dani, what do you have for us, today?”

- Fish. Cod mainly. We had cod last week, and the week before. Next week we’ll have more cod. Maybe some shark.

“Do you have anything else?”

- It’s fish. Look, there it is. It’s 150 ISK/kilo. What do you want from me?

We are presented with a ‘working environment’, something that hopefully survives the QA review. We are not presented with a customer experience that makes it feel as if we truly are an elite member of New Eden society. And the larger question there is: when are our overlords in far and fair Reykjavik going to see the incandescent spark of light that makes them understand who we are in the New Eden context and what that tells them about our expectation for the goods and services on offer in a store that caters to the elite?

I know that this moment will come, their visions for a better future are far brighter than the dim candle that lights my cranial cavity. I just don’t know when. I do hope it’s SOON[TM].

Why is the New Eden Store in-game? Given that it's a player experience rather than a capsuleer experience, why isn't it on the same site as Account Management?

Options for in-game storefronts would be the ability to use Aurum in place of LP for some items in the various LP stores around New Eden (for example, allowing you to buy a Nefantar Thrasher from the Ammatar Consulate, or a Wyrkomi Caracal from Wyrkomi).

Where are our Incarna "Establishments" where we can enter a store and walk around perusing the goods on offer? Custom uniforms, Amarrian robes hand-stiched by Intaki virgins, President Forian's personally styled sunglasses, and vials of soil from ancient Earth, with models of ships to put on the mantlepiece in your CQ, or real ships with which to decorate your hangar (or billboard), still and motion capture of the marvels of New Eden for pilots to display on their huge wrap-around screens.

Having the New Eden Store as a side-track from character selection just feels odd to me.

I expected something more like this. This is ofcourse only a quick mockup of what I think it should look like. Fits better in the interface. You can show info and compare with other things. Check out if you maybe already have this clothes/skins in your hangar, etc. The preview can be your own character if possible or the doll if not.

You could even change the price to LP, add a location to the buy dialog and integrate the LP store in a similar manner.

Ah this was mentioned in the previous post regarding the store, but I neglected to include it above, the launcher is required to access the store, circumnavigating the launcher will result in the message you saw. I'll update the original post.

If you were in fact using the launcher then please submit a bug report with as much detail as possible regarding what you were doing up until seeing that screen.
