You're laying it on a bit thick with this chronicle - it has a lot of "As You Know" - one character talking to another about things that both of them are already familiar with.

I'm also extremely concerned about the suggestion that alliances will be allowed into FW. This was a bad idea when it was first proposed and it continues to be a bad idea - made an even worse idea by recent FW mechanics changes.

haha, very nice story. I liked the humor + content.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Because FW is working so well as it stands now. It needs a radical and overwhelming change and while I'm not sure what the exact implications of it would be I'd rather they make a brave one instead of none at all. FW is broken and boring and at this point I'd welcome any change including scraping it.

One three-thousand man alliance joins one FW militia.

The two militias on the other side lose, forever.

Loved this chronicle, how I have missed them (they got me into EVE the first time :p) Patchnotes seemed a little forced, but whatever. The capsuleers are coming :P Would be nice if these POCOs could have something anchored around them, and upgradeable small forcefields...

Seems that way, but then that would weaken their 0.0 presence wouldn't it ? Surely people looking for a fight would even the balance...

Especially if it involves some deadspace areas with mass limits..

At least in theory.

Then they just spam all their ships into that area first so that the other militia can't even get in.

It's a great idea to let alliances in - as long as there are conditions.

All corps within alliance (not just alliance) should have proper standings. This should be paramount.

No hot-drops, but yes on Black Ops.

No docking in enemy system stations.

Poor standings and you get kicked.

I don't want to present any discouragement, because I generally love the chronicles, but...

Remove almost the entire first section where it feels like you're talking to your players (and calling them jerks for not giving you the recognition you deserve),

then remove almost the entire second section where you're giving a tl;dr version of the patch notes.

The rest is great.

Seriously though, keep the eve chronicles coming, they're a lot of fun!

@ Thorvik - what is it you think black ops do if not hot drops?

I might be wrong, but, I think the chastisement was directed at our attitude toward where the backstory seems to be going. Many people are screaming from both sides of the aisle about how THEY want the stroyline to play out, and their disappointment in the directions the Devs are choosing to take it.

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then, and it's a poor sort of memory that only works backward.

did anyone get the nagging feeling that Bouteil was Jeeves, i also had the mental image of Stephen Fry as Bouteil/Jeeves... did anyone else get this feeling.
but great chronicle (baring in mind I've only read the 3 ones which came out with crucible)
and as for the alliances in FW i think its a good idea, with the rules out lined by Thorvik, as you will not end up with just one alliance backing one militia leading to total annihilation for the others, you would end up with various alliance blocks backing various factions, and it may also reduce nul-sec allience hold of sov if they are also in these wars allowing for a more...fluid nul-sec, which in my view is no bad thing.

DISCLAIMER: My views do not represent those of my alliance, my corporation or myself. Yes, I can even confuse myself from time to time.

Having found nothing unlikeable about this story at all, I can only assume people find the patch-notes thing 'forced' and the likes because, hey, it's old news to you, you're not in-universe, and most of you would probably have difficulty roleplaying an officeworker by the amount of rp I've seen in this game.
In-universe I do believe this is how an annoyed, impatient businessman and his classic-style butler would talk about these things.
Thank you.
