Rigging question

Whilst training up some rigging skills I've been a little vexed by the descriptions. For example

''10% reduction in Shield Rig drawbacks per level.''

Is this referring to something about the installation of rigs concerning something like powergrid, or is it to do with rigs stacking? Or something else?

I've trained Shield Rigging up to four, but I'm clueless as to whether I should take it further.

Ok... so... this is how the rigging drawback work (in a nutshell)...

When you fit a rig, you gain all the benefits of that rig PLUS the drawbacks. For each level of [specific] rigging you have, you reduce the drawbacks by 10% overall.

This mean that at [specific] rig level 5, the rig's drawback is 50% less than what it normally is. So you will STILL be receiving some sort of drawback penalty.

Read the rig descriptions. Here is part of an Anti-EM shield rig description: "This ship modification is designed to increase the EM resistance of ship shields at the expense of increased signature radius. " Sig radius is the drawback.

These are some of the drawbacks rigs have.

Rig Type Drawback

Armour Max Velocity
Astronautic Armour Amount
Drone Ship CPU
Electronics None
Electronic Superiority Shield HP
Energy Grid None
Energy Weapon Powergrid Need*
Hybrid Weapon Powergrid Need*
Missile Launcher CPU Need*
Projectile Weapon Powergrid Need*

Dont forget you dont need the skill in the rig to use them, only to fit them. This means you can get a corpie or somebody to fit them for you then trade the ship back with rigs and you get the benifits, just remember you get the 10% drawback as well.

Usful if you are new and want to save a bit of training and you have some trusted friends,
