Can't place fuel blocks in towers?

I thought we were going to be able to place the new fuel blocks in towers to get them ready for the changeover, but when I try to put minmatar fuel blocks the in the fuel bay of a minmatar control tower it says I can't. Are they doing another update to let us stock the towers with fuel blocks at some point? I feel like I missed a dev blog post about it, but I don't see it mentioned anywhere, so I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

I have encountered the same thing when attempting to load up our medium minmatar pos. What?

found this

item info in game fuel block

Frustrated with the inefficiencies involved in tracking multiple fuel types, Thukker logisticians pioneered the development of prepackaged fuel. In YC 111, after a successful trial period, they converted the Tribe's entire starbase network to use fuel blocks. Capsuleers were forced to wait for this innovation while CONCORD dithered over how to handle the transition period, but were finally granted clearance in YC113.

This is a block of fuel designed for Minmatar control towers. Forty blocks are sufficient to run a standard large tower for one hour, while medium and small towers require twenty and ten blocks respectively over the same period.

"Towers will use 1 block/hour for small, 2 blocks/hour for medium and 4 blocks/hour for large. The CPU and Power load will no longer have any impact on your fuel needs - all towers now need the same amount of fuel, regardless of configuration."

why is there a factor of 10 per hr of operation¿¿¿

Known issue - probably requires a patch day fix (so maybe whenever the next patch is).

Make your fuel blocks this weekend, have them ready, check again after the next patch day.

Compared to the initial numbers, they buffed the batch output by a factor of 10 and reduced the volume from 50 to 5 per cube.
Basically, each cube from the initial devblog translates into 10 cubes in the current implementation.

They did that so they could keep the fuel usage bonuses for faction towers and sov discounts, which would have been pretty hard to do with the larger cubes (they couldn't have the tower eat up a fraction of a cube, but they can make it eat less small cubes).

Same problem, can't put Amarr fuel blocks in (offline) large Amarr CT.

The figures were revised after the faction towers thing where loads of people were complaining about the lack of fuel consumption bonus.

Fuel blocks will be enabled for towers after a bit of time (I'm guessing week or two) to allow people to gather a stock of them. Transition period it's called.

Inability to place fuel blocks in the towers is a bug that will be fixed in the next few days.

so the new fuel blocks will drastically increase the amount of robotics needed for fuel?

did not even a large tower only need 1 robotics per hour. now it is one robotics per cube?

If a large tower needs 50 cubes that is a huge fuel cost increase with the prices robotics have hit this week.

Once again....

The material requirements are per batch. Just like ammo. 1 batch produces enough fuel blocks (40) to run a large non-faction tower for 1 hour (40). So robotics are unchanged for large towers and reduced for medium/small towers.

It is a good point binging up the robotics requirements. If it is truly an increase, then it will cause a chain reaction. I produce just over the previous requirements for robotics. I also made 12000 blocks and found out I cannot place them as well. Another thing, unrelated to this thread I noticed today is that when I had my 3 accounts mining, and all are in same vorp, my 2 miners could not place ore into the corp hangar in the Orca. Said my standings are not good enough with the corp. I am in the corp lol. So I had to quit mining. Not using cans with an Orca.

They can put things in the orca its just you can't stack with an existing stack atm (e.g. 10000 ore in corp hanger you want to add 5000 ore you have to put in a new stack rather than just put on top of existing 10000 as you could before).

You can still use stack all though

So to recap, the KNOWN ISSUES thread says NOTHING about the bug, but thank god google has a real search engine.
