When have they? Not for some time. I've had cops trying to break into my house in the past, no warrant. Because some nutcase of a drugged-out sister decided to 911 long-distance call the police on me when my very sick mom didn't want to talk to her on the phone one day. Oh obviously I had a literal gun to my moms head and had to be hunted down like the dog I am... since I was the only one willing to take care of her when she was sick. So then I had cops running down the front gate (literal) and prying on the back door rather than just ringing the doorbell on the front door like a civilized human being would do (I have zero criminal record even). Nah, 4th was abandoned long ago, just like the rest of those. Buy ammo, live safe.

Oh and no, nothing bad happened beyond that, I went out the front and surrendered, showed them my mom and how she wasn't strangled to death. If my mom hadn't been here though... I don't care who thinks they can take down my back door. Sent my sister the bill, never paid. Yeah... cool story bro hehe. I can say a lot about it, but don't want to get 'political' here in this forum, and certainly my political views have shifted even further in recent years over what I see happening and have experienced first hand.

Where I have lived, cops always respected my 4th amendment rights. I have lived in Oregon and Washington. From what I hear, those two states have uncommonly nice cops.

Well that's complicated. We have state and federal rights, and even on that level there are battles between them. Like the state where I'm selling my house in, it has a very weak view/practice of rights (imo getting worse), while the state I plan to move to has more interest in defending rights. When dealing with feds, you never know, depends whom you are dealing with.

A small city I used to live in in Texas is like a police state. There's no public transportation and not many taxis, so they get a lot of just-barely-over-the-line drunk drivers. Cops stealth camp the routes to the few bars and restaurants that serve alcohol. Got a tail light out or fail to use a turn signal on a 30 mph residential street-- bam, pulled over for DWI. The tow truck is there inside of 3 minutes to impound your vehicle. The court then puts you in a probation program that goes on for a couple of years. You have to pay for monthly drug tests and probation meetings. In the end, the county makes $8,000 - $10,000 per arrest.

If you're not intoxicated and they can't get an arrest, you still get hassled for half an hour while they try to make you confess to something. And while they're at it, they search your car. If you had the guts to back-talk them, a couple of more patrol cars show up to intimidate you. And you'll probably get the full car search, where they go over every inch. Careful, don't bump into a cop, or you might get assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest charges.

If you live close enough and can just walk to a bar, they have camps for you to. Bicycle cops in ninja black cycling suits silently stalk you after you come out of the bar. If you wobble or give any indication that a public intoxication charge might stick, they stop you and one of the camper patrol cars shows up to haul you off. More money for the county.

It's just out of control. The cops and courts actively and aggressively target the citizens. They're not so much preventing crimes, but running an arrests and convictions industry.

Not here heh not at all, in SoCal. I've been punked by cops quite a few times. Like one night, driving my 4x4 on surface streets and got to an intersection for a right turn. Put my signal on about 60ft out (-35mph area, about right). But at the last moment before the turn my tire hits the uneven surface between the street and the gutter, pushes my wheel back a little and my signal goes off as I make the turn.

Minute later I have a cop pulling me over, says I didn't use a turn signal. I (very nicely) explained that I did but it got pushed off from the gutter. He motions to his partner which goes to the back of my truck. Then he tells me to get out of my truck. Asks if I have any weapons or drugs in my truck and asks if he could search, forcibly asks. Obviously if I say no, it gets towed, so I say go ahead (no attitude what so ever). He escorted me to the back of my truck where his buddy stands there at attention with his hand on his gun holster eying at me. Cop proceeds to rip through my truck like a fiend for ten minutes. The cop standing in front of me has a big wad of tobacco in his mouth and is literally spitting it onto my shoes while he chuckles at me. These are the brain dead idiots in my city, trying to provoke people. I didn't give them the satisfaction, just stone faced stared back at him, took his ticket and put my crap back in my truck, left.

The problem is, we don't get local cops, they are all usually out of county, from far away, detached from the community. These guys usually spend time in the prison system learning how to beat up inmates before going on patrols. Then they get transferred under contract to some beat many miles from their own neighborhood. Never had a problem with a Sheriff or deputy, we elect those guys from our own county/district, they live among us in our neighborhoods. I've had friends that were deputies, good friends actually. But the city cops, whole different thing. And they are armed now big time, militarized. A lot of stuff going on down here, cops killing people, and getting caught on tape doing it sometimes, just totally inhuman acts. Like in next county over, with the Kelly Thomas murder. Let them basically walk too, animals.

hah don't even get me started on LA cops, I lived down there, during the big riots too. Well had just moved out of LA, but was there with friends when it started. Never had a cop threaten to kill ya, eh? yep, been out to Oregon and Washington, nice area. I like Washington and off towards the east. Been researching the crime rates and other problems out there the past couple years, much better than what goes on down here, for sure.

As if that is not almost the case now. Not in your house, but watch your email, your phone, cameras on every street corner.

Yeah, keep pretending government is there to protect you from the evil corporations, who are after all, chartered by government.

As it has to do with cameras on strreet corners...

If the citizens were smart they would have their own cameras up to protect their own rights and property, on every corner of their property and buildings.

P.S. That crap town has so many cops per capita that the local workforce can't handle the hiring demand. They have to import merc cops from all over the U.S. Lately, instead of the regular local redneck types, they have these young Blackwater-like guys. Cool guy black shades, Glocks, and they have some kind of membership tattoo also.
