Well, it looks like they made the background stars more to scale (given the short distances between stars in EVEs Globular Starcluster), and the result is quite nice. Lots of larger stars in the background, varying spectral colours, the lot really. Rather good looking.

Ooh, that sounds nice. I hope I don't have to upgrade my computer to enjoy it though.

I don't know how you managed to entirely miss the the visual effects for the star in your current system, which is what I was talking about.

Well, yes I did notice that too, the new stars in system look good, but for pure atmosphere, the background stars have more impact I feel. :)

I thought we were talking about the background stars. The main stars are nice.

Is it because they're too difficult to accurately design?

I think I heard Neil DeGrasse Tyson say binary systems are probably more common than single star systems (like our own solar system, for example). So it seems like, after ten years, CCP would have put them in by now.

Look, I have to have to break this to you, but Eve Online is a computer game.

This ships you fly, warping, star-gates etc are not real, or based on real physics either.

This is not a signature.

Oh.

I WANTZ BINARY SYSTEMS IN EVE

CCP make it so.

Congratulations!

Because of your whine, someone who was working on trying to fix or improve the game, has been pulled so they can draw you another shiny glowing ball on the screen.

Binary systems, schminary systems!!! Whatevur!

I've already seen the new Supernova star systems: http://i.imgur.com/bX9k1Yn.jpg
Beautifully animated too btw.

Why is it that each time this crops up I have to quote this article
and this Hubble image of Sirius A and B ?

Also on related news scientists have found Sol's "twin" that is a star that is believed to be of a same composition and age (meaning it came from the same nebula) as our Sol.

I knew I ought to have avoided this thread. Every time it comes up, links like that are posted and I spend the next 3 hours jumping through wikipedia pages about stars, supernovas, black holes and stellar kinematics.

Thanks for the procrastination.
