As much as I try to make ISK from dodgy courier contracts, I am yet to ever do so.

I make a lot more out of trading, and 'legit' but awfully low paying courier contracts where I buy item X for 50m in lowsec, pay a courier 500k to move it to a highsec hub, and sell it for 65m. No deception, but not 'fair' either.

Taking advantage of others in EVE does not always require misleading them, merely recognising those that undervalue a commodity (in this case time) and putting them to work.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

Yeah i know. You call them useful idiots. i was just emphasising the other stuff to paint a picture of the vastly different gameplay options available. maybe i hould have pointed him at Feyd's pay it forward campaign also?
I kinda feel like a stalker knowing so much about you. I should read the forums less Sad

Money at its root is a form of rationing. When the richest 85 people have as much wealth as the poorest 3.5 billion (50% of humanity) it is clear where the source of poverty is. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/20/trickle-down-economics-broken-promise-richest-85

I appreciate the assistance all. This thread has given me a lot to think about direction wise. I'm still not all that convinced that I could be truly evil, but who knows.

One thing I noticed being said several times here and elsewhere is that mining is boring. Really? Then maybe I'm doing something wrong but so far mining has been one of the most nail biting activities I've done in game.

Right now I am flying a venture with mostly tech 1 modules. I just updated to tech 2 mining lasers, but I need to keep an eye out for NPCs if I mine in a system that is 0.5 security level because the NPC frigates can actually kill me. I nearly lost my ship a few times thinking my drones would get them before they ate through my shields and armor. Two lost drones and a big repair bill later and I am wondering if I need to move to someplace less hostile. I can't even imagine what the NPCs are like in lower security spaces let along player ships.

For me mining is like running around gathering things while dodging gunfire and making sure you're getting the absolute best as you go to make it all worth while. Not really sure why that is so boring to many people though.

When your skills are a bit higher you will cease to have problems with belt rats in high security space. Three Hobgoblins should be enough to deal with them. Then your problems will come from other players who will attack you or bump you out of position. They do this just for the hell of it and you will need to learn how to take precautions - search the forums or Google it, you will find plenty of advice.

Some people will tell you that something is boring simply because they find it boring - they don't have the imagination or intelligence to realise that other people might be different.

Some players who say mining is boring are actually miners themselves - they want to put you off to reduce potential competition.

RVB as in red versus blue its a player run corp that runs group fleets in very cheap ships that take only a small amount of training to fly and use.

if you dont want to just run missions and add isk to your wallet then these guys are brilliant for new players wanting to make a difference in fleet.

it doesnt take a lot of isk or training to join in with the fun. in fact you dont even need to join the alliance to get involved with their fleets. lots of fun and dying(do it early and get over dying, youll do it a lot) Big smile
