if it helps, it seems that there's research under way on how you getting a very strong shot of measles vaccine can help on curing cancer, specifically myeloma.

results are promising.

it was a 50/50 chance tho. 2 people underwent trials, and only one managed to enter into remission. It doesn't get all kinds of myeloma, but even in the one that failed, the tumours decreased in size before they regenerated.

so, there is hope.

I read somewhere that the other patient did go into remission for 9 months before the tumors returned, so it's still a positive, beating cancer back for another 9 months, meaning the other patient was granted 9 months more of life with friends and family they wouldn't have had without the treatment. I'd say that's got promise too when anything can extend the life longer for cancer patients like that. It gives hope, and anything that gives hope is a good thing.

yes, it is a great breakthrough and I really do they develop virotherapy to the extent where you can do it with good results.

but my skeptic side keeps telling me it's a bit.. dangerous to play with what is basically the fastest evolving biological entity we know of.

here's hope that this isn't a pandora's box.

While there are some interesting treatments coming out for a few specific cancers, it remains an unfortunate truth that there will be no silver bullet as far as can currently be seen. But along with life-threatening illness often comes depression; and anyone helping another person fight that is doing a good thing.

Its great to see there are people like this in the game.

I have had my brush with cancer too and it warms my heart to see that not only you are recovering but that your CEO actually cared enough to help you out of game, even if its just a chat.

Far too many people are lost to the various forms of cancer yet a lot of people would struggle to name a handful. More research needs to be done so that we as a species can treat this so that future generations will not have loved ones torn away from them by cancer.

id normally give an o7 for people beating an illness or getting something they really wanted but that doesnt cut it against cancer. Stay strong and please, be careful, stay healthy.

To any others reading this that are battling cancer or other issues. Always stay strong, never give up.

Glad to see that there is a creamy center of decency to Eve Online.

Its nice to know that not everyone is a bastard-coated bastard with bastard filling.

Will be a great day when we can gank cancer for good.

I am a cancer patient. I am currently cancer free in remission. While I was in the hospital undergoing multiple operations this past year my Corp CEO kept tabs on me and called me on my cell frequently. Whilst I was on morphine drip and delirious he would want to chat it up, and this really helped to cheer me up. I don't recall most of the conversations, but I am fairly sure they were foot loose and fancy free on my part...

I just wanted to point out to the rest of New Eden that there was a CEO who actually cared, and it actually mattered to me IRL. We've since parted ways in Eve, but thanks to him I've had the audacity to return to Eve...yet again.

This man made a difference to me in game, and in real life.

I think an o7 is order for Proteus Ormande of The Longshot Brigade former CEO of The Tall Order. This man stands head and shoulders above all others as far as I'm concerned for his dedication to Corp, members, and friendships.

Thank you Prot! Call me anytime =)

calling you on a morphine drip.... you know, calling someone on morphine can be entertaining. Lol

Congrats on being in remission and may you never see it again.

I've seen far too much of this wretched disease to last me a lifetime and know how much it means to have someone to talk to when faced with it. I'm glad you're making progress! Our job over here is ultimately to connect humans with other humans and it's invigorating to hear of how it changes lives in a positive way.

P.s. Your CEO is a baller.
