The other Capital part also has to do with an Orca.

The fact that my Ventures died due to lag would make little difference if they were with T2 drones.
They could still die due to lag.

I mine the Mackinaw prodigious, however the lag and the whiskey forget. Mackinaws pirates. Also rats. Ice is good.

may I suggest the isk guide it has a mining section in it that you could read.

and for reference my character mines in a skiff with 1 mlu ii and a t2 strip miner with t2 crystals.
the ship pulls 3481m3 every 180s with a orca boost that would be even higher.
so solo that's around 10m isk and hr just mining hs ores.

here's a good link to some venture mining fits eve uni wiki

I only use ventures for gas mining in a wormhole but with the fits in the link they can kill the pirates while mining and salvage also.

I mine in highsec space, but pirates attack me. My ship is expensive and it has no tank, so pirates kill me. I cannot do anything about this and it makes me angry to die so easily in highsec space. Mining is not worth the effort.

Me:

I have to admit, I was killed pretty much instantaneously in my Hulk in medsec space last week. Fully paying attention, ganker-squad got me in less than a minute. My fleet didn't have anytime to react to them. In and Out in less than a few minutes.

I trained Ice Mining on my pilot with Mining V (which is pretty high for a hauler, no need for mining).

However, he didn't learn to fly Barges.


I may try some Mining Missions to see what will happen.



I'm anxious to try the new (not even new yet) ORE frigate (even though not Venture either).



I have never mined gas , I don't even recall the Tutorial mission(s) allowing to mine or harvest gas.
This, even though that there seem to be gas in the Tutorial mission (storyline).



btw, I just got some unexpected money which I will go run and get before I can't log in.
