I'm bored with LVL4's -- next best high sec PVE for ISK?

Subject line pretty much says it all. I'm a new player who has finally mastered L4's and now I'm getting bored. I thought anomalies might be a good option but most people say they are not worth the time for the ISK reward.

Factional warfare is still scary and confusing.

So what else is there in high sec for me to pew-pew for a decent reward?

Thanks for the help and advice!

Have you done the Epic Arcs for each of the four major factions? http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=MissionReportsEpicArc

Unfortunately, it's not something you can do continuously (can do each once every 3 months), but it's a bit more interesting than L4s. Note that the Caldari one requires that you go into low or null (although the low/null bits can be done in something fast or cloaky). The other three have highsec-only options.

But, if you're not wanting to do missions anymore, and you're wanting to stay in highsec--incursions are really your only other lucrative option.

Join an incursion channel or two and run a few incursions. Fun, easy, lowish risk, good ISK, and not a solo activity. All positive points.

Just make sure you have T2 guns and tank on your turret based BS.

Good info here.

Yeah, the Epic Arcs are definitely a step up from regular level 4 missions.

Also you might consider running Cosmos Missions. Of course those can only be completed once in the life of your character. However they do have a good story plot and offer some unique rewards.

Just something to think about.

Two main choices:

Option 1. Get out of highsec

Option 2. Do incursions

Nullsec anomolies top out for me at 85m/hr including completing the escalations when they pop (gurista hub -> piths penal).

Highsec serpentis exploration had a long term average of 65m/hr for me (its probably a little less now due to general erosion of c-type prices), gives you a great supply of pimp parts for armor cruisers and it puts you in contention with other players (ie racing and loot theft) all of which are good things. You will have to manage the search task.

Gurista highsec exploration has a loot table worth twice as much as the serpentis loot table, supplies you with pimp shield bits for crusers and is even more competitive. I'd expect to be able to earn close to 100m an hour on average (consisting of nothing, nothing, nothing 400m, nothing, 100m, nothing, nothing 200m etc), when good at finding the encounters and good at clearing them quickly.

Blood highsec exploration is far more relaxing, less competition and as valuable as serpentis.

Highsec dens (anomolies) I actually did not mind, the necessary ship for that task is a hac (ishtar is great), and you need some knowledge about where they pile up. I eventually extracted a full LG snake implant set from serpentis dens because the overseer spawns really regularly, and I eventually collected quite a few vigilants from following the resulting escalations to lowsec. Other races dens are also rewarding if you work out how to follow up the escalations.

How about considering something different...

Mining, trading, hauling, market manipulation. within a corporation how about taking over planetary customs offices and earn money while you sleep. Removal of Control towers in high sec using war decs, and while your in a war look for some PVP too against some of the smaller corporations.

If you prefer flying solo, then try cosmic anomalies/signatures and cosmos missions.
If you prefer flying in a fleet, then check out incursions.

Both cosmic anomalies and incursions can be very competitive, but they are very rewarding.

If you're not interested in joining a corp to get into nulsec and are brave and cunning the natural progression for a solo pilot would be to get into a scanning ship and get comfortable scanning down hacking & archeology sites and moving through lowsec. Then move into a T3, get into nulsec and work out of NPC stations running nulsec anomalies that pay upwards of a billion isk in loot.

One word: Incursion. Other than that you are out of luck.

Having just left my old Corp, I've went to run some Incursions with a newbie friendly fleet.

I made approx, 500 million in a week, and that was just running the vanguard sites.

I highly recommend you join a channel from the "Incursion Public" chat channel, as this will show all those that are running Incursions.

Just open a new channel and then type in Incursion Public and join.

Having tech 2 guns and modules are a big help but the runners can give you advice on ship fittings and which channel you should be in.

Good luck and fly safe.

I haven't done the ISK/hour ratio for anomalies, but I find running cosmic anomalies in null-sec to be quite rewarding. I make enough to gear up the ships I want, with extra change to help my brother. Once I get more skilled, of course, I will be moving on to other things. I am thinking of Incursions, but I do enjoy avoiding the drama surrounding loot and other such renumerations when it comes to compensating folks for whatever drops. Do what you enjoy. Remember: play to have fun, not just to make ISK. Otherwise, its just you messing with yourself while you watch a digital number climb up.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.

If you think about it, bank accounts and stock markets are digital number ruling our life and people love to watch them climb ; )

FW missions are pretty nice, although I run for FARMatar so it's kind of biased my way a lot. Easy to do in a stealth bomber, you pick up a bunch at once from diffirent stations, set waypoints to all the mission systems, optomize route, run them all, then return home and cash them all out at any one of the fw mission stations you like. It costs basically nothing to have PUSH or FROG haul your LP loot to Rens for sale, and just a little more to get it somewhere like Jita or Amarr where it'll fetch a better price. Get an on-account trading alt going for best results. While the milita is in tier 3 or better (as minmatar is now) the isk/hr even with the longer run per lot of missions, is hugely better than highsec level 4's, even in a good ship. Once you learn well enough how to evade camps and which pilots are going to try and jump you at the mission beacon, your efficiency will be incredible. It's one of the few PvE things (aside from FW plexing, which is also easy as hell, but not quite as easy anymore post-patch) that a ~5mil sp character can do 90% as well as a 100m sp vet.

As an aside, I should also add, while you're in the militia you're going to screw up your standings with the opposing faction royally, so there's the big trade-off. Also, you might try the FW pvp itself which is beginning to heat up a lot in the minmatar/amarr regions. It's a hell of a lot of fun on both sides right now and a great time to get started.

Incursions for isk flow to keep your plex (I know it can be boring as lvl4 if u dps but u can train up for logi or t3 drone bunny;) ). When u have good isk incomes from incursions u can start playing for fun and try other stuff like low/null sec, WH in high sec if u dont like low/null or as other ppl said industry/manufacturing/hauling/scumming ;) If u like u can try FW but its good to have team.

High sec is safe place so without risk there is not much pay out... but u can try to do a bit of everything in high sec. U can PL, mining, manufacturing and sell it on market - since it cost no time (or afk mining) u can focus on other jobs like lvl4, incursions, plexes (boring) or go for exploration. When u will be alble to fly T3 u could try to find nice C3 wh and solo it for profits. This is it if u wanna play solo and if u wanna find corp they will probably keep u buisy all day long:P

Trade = Best isk in high sec.
