Oh my god. What ever made you think this was a good idea?

How can I turn them off?

They constantly obscure the thing that I am trying to look at.

I looked in the settings window and I don't see anywhere to turn them off.

I am hoping you will do a quick rollback of this 'feature' and test it a little more. In many places of the interface it just makes the interface unusable because you can't SEE the interface.

Thank you for your consideration.

Would be nice if you can turn it off like the tutorials.

Is that my two cents or yours?

Perhaps a contextual turn-off may be more desirable. For instance I don't care if I'm selecting a stargate, starbase, planet or star but I do care about selecting a ship, I don't want to look at my overview, widen it and reduce my screen economy, distracting from what I want to do. It would be more helpful if the tooltips gave the actual names instead rather than the type.

+1 for this option.

Yes, please.

When you mouseover someone on the overview it does not display corp ticker or alliance ticker anymore, and I am well aware that a thrasher is a destroyer. Let us disable this.

Tool tips the way they stand today are a huge pain in the butt and I would gladly live with out them. They get in the way and make can spew (which I hate with a passion) in exploration a frigging nightmare at times.

If your going to give us these handy dandy tools give us a freaking way to turn them off.

Negative 5 from me for tool tips

Nice effects, looks to be well done but the USABILITY and how it OBSCURES things makes this was a huge waste of time in my opinion, please let us turn them off.

+1 to the removal of tooltips, it's too much like putting eve on easy mode for noobs. I've done my tutorials, I know how things work, I don't need them.

At least have an option in the settings to get rid of them or ensure that they only get seen once by new players.

I used to get useful information when I moused over things in the overview. Like corp/alliance tickers or the full name of different stations, etc. Now I get told that its a ship or a station. I can already tell its a ship or a station by the icon and type column. Very lame change.

The option to turn it off and on would be great.

The new info bubbles are terrible clutter, my screen hardly has enough room as it is. Yes, I understand new players probably need this, that new players might not know what the ship class, or celestial class of all the stuff on the overview... though, I'm pretty sure I know what a freighter, star, station, etc look like and/or are named. It's not nice to turn your back on the longtime vets of this game in such a passive aggressive way.

Please add an option in the esc menu (under general settings tab), or in the actual overview options/setup like turning the cross-hairs on/off, to remove these foul info bubbles that so intrude and clutter my workspace/viewing space on the overview.

This was one of the most noticeable, annoying, and intrusive "updates" that has ever been rolled out. It makes it very hard to enjoy the beauty of the game... (I've been playing since '08 and most of us bitter vets do not want/need this info)

put in the option to disable HUD tooltips, disable module tooltips, disable neocom tooltips, disable/edit overview tooltips, disable UI tooltips, disable/edit screen tooltips (you know - the bit in space that hardly anyone uses), and ofcourse the option to disable all of the tooltips for each window: fleet, market, assets, inventory, etc
for any older player - they're a pain - I know what a stargate looks like on my overview thank you very much, what I want to see is who's in that thrasher that's just gone yellow, and yes, I know a thrasher is a desty, and I even know it's a T1 minmatar desty that uses projectile turrets, tends to shield or speed/sig tank, and can pack a mean alpha.
also - wrecks - I know what a wreck looks like - tell me what it's a wreck of, is it an indy wreck (because I might want to loot it), or a BS wreck (sweet sweet salvage) or a T2 variant wreck (sweet T2 salvage)

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it WILL be.

CCP, Please give us the option to turn off this annoying ****. When playing on a laptop it clutters the screen so badly that queing invention and manufacturing jobs becomes a nightmare.

Even if I was a noobie, I would be annoyed as once you know what something is or does, there's no further need to "Tip" people about it.

C'mon guys, see sense and give us an Off button please :)

I also would like to at least selectively be able to turn off the tooltips. I set them to max delay, but now I can't quickly glance at mod values or other things that are now all thrown into the general tooltips. Shocked

Usually less is better.

Same actually goes for the info screen/tabs if plain values without color, icons and visual dingaling is the most efficient, then keep them. There is a reason why excell sheets are still in use after decades, they work and EVE is a game about information and obscuring that with visual decoration is a pain in the butt. Evil

Turrets: 7; don't make me count rings and guess without propper seperation if its 6, 7 or 8 at a quick glance. You don't wanna stay there for long, nor should you. Just an open/glance/close, no sense in prolonging the 'glance' part by making it look more pleasing or artistic....
... sorry for off topic, probably gonna open or search for another thread for it. Still, its connected in a way.

I'm actually on strike. I'm not logging in until the tool tips are removed or we have an option to turn them off. I was hopeful about the last patch. They gave us loads of options with the audio, but a simple flag to switch off tool tips is too much effort it seems.

They fixed it then broke it again for items... Funny stuff

Is that my two cents or yours?

The general settings tab in the ESC menu has sliders for the delay on tooltips. It has a pretty wide setting range so if you just make the delay really long it's basically off.
