Hello MD,

So I realised the offer is not very appealing (you know, uncollateralized, i'm on a npc corp, etc), but I'll just tell you a little bit about myself to convince you that it's a good investment.

So this char is about 2 and a half years old but all around I've played Eve like 4 months, stopped for a long time after being bored. I tried a bit of everything, and on the past few days I've settled myself to make my ISK with Trading.

I've started with a capital of 15m (wanted to get the grasp of it by managing few orders at the time). 2 days of trading after and I have 100m in the wallet so I think i've got the basics down.
Now I've realized I needed a larger trading capital in order to increase my operations. This is where you come in.

I make ISK off station trading, and supplying FW / Low-sec markets for increased profits. This is what your ISK will be used for.

I'll settle a return date of 3 weeks to give me some slack. But I'll probably be able to return the ISK sooner.

I'm not willing to give an API.

I know uncollateralized loans sound shady but I have no means to provide one. I hope you'll be able to trust me even if I learned the hard way that giving trust in Eve can be really expensive.

Happy profits everyone.

First off, start way smaller. If anyone is willing to take a chance with you I'm 99.9% (repeating) sure they won't loan you 1B. Secondly, you need to be willing to give your API. 1B for trading is chump change as well. Good luck with this dismal loan.

I understand that, and to be honnest I expected your answer. I know that 1B is "chump change", that's why I asked this as it seemed a fine amount for a starter loan.
Should I lower this amount ?

I'm really not fan of giving away my API. Mostly because I feel like I'm giving away for free intel about all my trading operations without even knowing if the person will loan me the ISK after that.

I can however provide more infos about what i'm doing through Eve-mail or a convo. Hell I can even provide some screenshots of my transactions.

Hope someone will give me a shot, and until then fly safe!

Hope im not sounding mean but I guess I'm not being as helpful as I thought I was. You should have received some bites from people willing to loan you isk by now, but there haven't been any - So there are a few things that are clearly wrong/offputting about your loan ad. Try this instead:

Lower your asking amount
Provide API data
Provide some content showing that you are successful in trading

Hell even with those 3, the chances of you securing a loan is small. Good luck.

Well, after a few eve-mails exchanged with Bayaz Sharvas, we settled for a short-term (1 week) 250m ISK with a 10% interest rate.
Ive received the ISK and 275m ISK are to be returned on 2014.05.21.

I'd like to thank him for trusting me, even if it's a much smaller amount, it'll still increase my profits by a fair bit.
If other people are willing to settle for short-term, small amount of ISK like that, I'm more than willing to take them.

You were not mean by all means and helpful, thank you for your time.

My recommendation is if you are serious about pursing further loans, its important to have the person you are receiving a loan from post in this thread, their validation is considered usually for further loans and helps to debuff scam skepticism once your current loan is complete & paid off.

edit;

there he is :P

Thanks for the help. You sounded a little harsh at the beginning but that's totally understandable considering the amount of scammers in New Eden. You've been of a great help, thank you.

So here is an update about what I did with the money. Will not go in depth about it but just some general headlines so you guys can see I'm serious about this business.

With a small amount of money like this I settled up for hauling stuff from Jita to low-sec for two main reasons :
- The amount loaned is small so station-trading would be exhausting for me (0.01 isk war), and wouldn't generate that much of profits.
- I think hauling stuff to a place when they'll sell for a lot more is more appropriate for a small amount loan ; i'll want good spread on all of my products so I can generate the more profits in the 1 week time frames.

So I've bought a total of 250m isk of goods, spread into 9 items. The goods have been hauled safely into the system i want to sell, and sell orders have been set up (around 310-320m in sell orders). So far, so good.

I've kept 70% of the loan (175m) from my own money in my wallet, so I should be able to return the ISK with ease even if a few sell orders doesnt actually sell.

Hope I've debuffed a little bit of scam skepticism.
Thanks for your advices and thanks to Bayaz Sharvas for trusting me on this one.

Regards,
Corail.

Cool Story. I look forward to the next chapter!

Pro Tip:

If you are going to go heavily into Low Sec trading and ask for more money for this in a future loan (which is your next logical step), then you might want to try to put potential investors minds at ease when you ask for that money by explaining why the money is safe. Given that you are not station trading (safe as houses), but instead buying assets with the money loaned and then promptly carting into pirate invested waters, I would be wary as an investor. By this I mean - prove you know what you are doing and can get your goods about safely. "I stick em in a cargo maxed itty and autopilot into Rancer" is probably not what people are looking for.

Good luck.

Good point. Thanks for the insight.

With this batch of goods I hauled it myself with an indy ship. I used an alt to check any eventual gatecamps / local spike activity around the area I was moving him. The place I sell in is close to high-sec so it was fast and easy.

Further down the line I'm considering my options about hauling the stuff, if I keep on asking loans and pay them back, which I will, the amounts will grow and I'll get to a point where I would be a great target for ganking. Haven't really put that much thought about it at the moment, I'm mainly focused on making this loan work, but I'll heavily consider using red frog / black frog services or if I want to do this myself, maybe haul them on several trips using a well tanked / warp core stabilized battleship and of course doing recon with my alt.

Thanks again for the tip ! If you have other advices feel free to drop them, I'm still very new to this and probably unaware of a lot of stuff I need to do / think about.

Regards,
Corail

As almost all my goods have been purchased by now, I've returned a total of 275m ISK to the investor Bayaz Sharvas.

Thanks to all of you the advices and to Bayaz for the investment.

I'll be back soon with another loan request (thinking about 500m for the next one).

Regards,
Corail.
