I concur. Heavy drone DPS application is far too slow and unreliable to be effective in most situations. Sentrishtars will continue to be king. (I am not looking forward to training all of the Drone specializations to V, though.)

Brick fit drone Proteus? I vaguely remember a drone prot having 100 bandwidth. I've heard a few people saying the Stratios could be badass with it too.

Drone Proteus will never be badass until it gets the 125 bandwidth it deserves and the drone bay slightly expanded so it can compete with the "inferior" Ishtar.

Yip, always weirded me out that it only has 100 bandwidth. But still that's a pair of Gecko's and prots do have a lot of low slots.

IMHO I feel ishtar is a lil OP with its speed & damage app, and some people have found ways to get some pretty ridiculous shield tanks out of them, and ASB tanks last forever as cargo isn't really used for ammo....

Yeah they are great and they have their uses but the future meta of WHs I think not... If they become that then CCP will just nerf them anyway lol.

As I can see from discussion thread, future meta is not ok for most of the fellows what we see on grid sometimes. Don't know how it will be in future, I think we will adopt as we are forced to, but meanwhile I play dota2 and this is great game I can say;)

Ratting carrier making 24m ticks afk (with questionable drone/carrier skills)

Carrier 3 - Fighters 1 - Thanny is showing 1k dps with fighters and 4 DDA


Geckos go close to 4k a sec with 2 t1 navigation comps. Geckos have .53 rad/s tracking with 3 scripted t1 omni.
That equates to Interceptors getting blapped by heavy drones.
(normal drones go much slower. Geckos are just amazing.)

Haven't tested ishtars yet but I think ishtars plus heavies are gonna be pretty epic.

When I read the title 'GIVING DRONES AN ASSIST' I seriously thought it was an April fools joke as it was April 1st and there's now way that CCP doesn't see that drones as they are are completely overpowered. However I guess we're just going to keep doing everything we can to make life easier for semi-afk 0.0 Ishtars right?

Who cares. Let me clue you in. Normal drones will always be **** for fleets because they're so easy to smartbomb off. As long as you have one ship in your fleet with smartbombs, you're set. Can't do this easily with sentries because they're spread out and you have to fly to them, they aren't flying to you. Sentries still will be standard.

Also who cares about about normal drones anyway. I'm far more interested in the fact that fighters will be OP as hell now. I'm going to enjoy my frigate level tracking einherji in my nyx that do 6500 dps.
