Starting a eve lottery, need help

Hi all,

I am attempting to start off a eve lottery but in game I am getting a lot of people saying BS and all this and actually being the most aggressive a player has ever been to me before. So I was wondering if anyone can help me to find out the best way to start this off and running and people to actually trust what it is?

Info about the lottery.

The lottery I am planning to run weekly to start off this sunday the first draw, its a little different from normal lotteries ingame, with you actually picking 7 numbers a ticket from 1 - 49. I have kept the ticket price 1mil isk a ticket to try and get players to not think its to risky, but no luck in selling any tickets as of yet.

Lottery Rules

Pick 7 Numbers between 1 and 49.
A given number can only be picked once per lottery ticket.
no limit on tickets you can buy.
1Mil isk a Ticket.
Places Paid - Match 6, Match 5 Match 4 Match 3 Match 2.
Match 6 (Jackpot will rollover to next draw if not won)

How To Buy A Ticket

Donate Money To “FireMaster247”
Amount: 100,000
Reason: “10,34,24,33,45,57,32” your numbers without quotation marks

each ticket must be separate. any queries don’t hesitate to contact me.

Draw Date - Sunday, 18th May, 2014

The Draw Will Be Made At 14:00 Server Time.
Winning Tickets Will Be Announced At 15:00 Server Time.
Winning Will Be Deposited No Later Than 23:00 Server Time.

Estimated Prize Fund

The Estimated Prize Fund Will Be Updated As Tickets Are Sold.

Prize Fund: ???,???,???isk


If The Lottery Is Successful

we have a lot of things in the pipeline with a potential of a website with the ability to view your tickets etc and bigger lottos.


any help or comments would be appreciated. trying to build a reputation as being a legit lottery

I don't believe in spamming so no I would not do this. I would only advertise in the lottery channel, and if players are in that channel that's what they are in there for. I have now created the channel: FireMaster247-lottery

Would really like to know what I can do more to get people to have a go on this lottery? I have kept the lottery low to 1mil a ticket to help people not to think its much of a risk

Running a small lotto is likely to get you ignored. Its also not like there are not already thousands of lottos. Besides that, tracking and other junk like that can become an issue. Setup large lottos, big ships, costly officer fittings, etc. Then get some trusted third party to hold onto the prize, so you can be trusted. In time you might not require a 3rd party but starting out it will be required.

Saying that I am willing to offer up myself for 3rd party services in this case. I can hold onto the assests to make sure the winner gets the prize and you don't try to cheat them out of the isk. You can also find more 3rd party services on the wts forums.

Just to let everyone know I have dropped the price to 100,000isk a ticket


edit. someone has put a 20mil isk bounty on me now, so no one seems to trust even with the 100,000 a ticket, so i decided its to much trouble at the present time to start it.
