Combat Drone Operation Being Effectively Removed from the Game

But you are only losing access to a variant not a drone type.

Main thing is it will shutup all the SP whiners :D

This.

These Dev blog/posts are made long enough before a change to see and understand them first. If you jumped headlong into some training before understanding the change, then that's your fault.

We do get to laugh at you, so it's still good. Big smile

These Dev blog/posts are made long enough before a change to see and understand them first. If you jumped headlong into some training before understanding the change, then that's your fault.

If people didn't or don't read blogs, that again is their issue.
I just think it's rather funny to complain, if you ran at it without first understanding it.

The blog was clear enough and the whole point of the comments section, is to clarify it for those who cannot see the wood for the trees.

Why do people keep saying that? T2 warrior and T2 valkyrie both only need SDO V not CDO V....

The requirements of those drones are changing. I quote from the devblog:

CCP Rise - "This means that all light combat drones will now be unlocked and bonused from the Light Drone Operation skill, and medium combat drones will be unlocked and bonused from the Medium Drone Operation skill."

People who have both SDO 5 and CDO 5 (most unfavourable situation):
Before
  • Scout drone operation 5 (x1) = 256.000 SP
  • Combat drone operation 5 (x2) = 512.000 SP
    • After
  • Scout drone operation* 5 (x1) = 256.000 SP
  • Light drone operation 5 (x1) = 256.000 SP
  • Medium drone operation 5 (x2) = 512.000 SP

    • After - Before = +256.000 SP


    People who have only SDO 5 (and CDO 0) (most favourable situation):
    Before
  • Scout drone operation 5 (x1) = 256.000 SP
  • Combat drone operation 0 (x2) = 0 SP
    • After
  • Scout drone operation* 5 (x1) = 256.000 SP
  • Light drone operation 5 (x1) = 256.000 SP
  • Medium drone operation 5 (x2) = 512.000 SP

    • After - Before = +768.000 SP



    *Scout drone operation will be renamed to Drone avionics after the patch

    Notice how in both instances this patch will result in extra SP. You can keep banging on here and arguing in circles with Trippia but Fozzie has explicitly said there is nothing to reimburse. Why don't you go into the Drone patch thread and argue with him, see if a bit of name calling and accusations of being agressive will change his mind?

    Plenty of us will only get the 256k, but we've had the benefit of the skills for years in a lot of cases so no need to have hysterics. If people feel so cheated, train all the alts on your accounts. I'm doing all my lab gimps and cyno alts so I'll be getting more SP than you per account. Would you like to complain about the unfairness of that too?
