Oh, Hi there, thread I made over three months ago. My EVE sub expired for a while, but as always, I renewed it again.

Yes, been playing Rust. Got a server, now coding plugins for Magma framework. which lets you mod the game with Javascript programs.

Made friends with a coding buddy who was a bit further along with his modding toolkit, but he had been working previously with Oxide, a LUA-based plugin framework. Now he's got in-game telemetry updating a live map. I'm running his Traps plugin on my server, among other fun stuff. Traps does just what it says: lets you trap a door and spring something deadly, like a spike wall, or the floor disappears and drops you into a prison cell. Very cool stuff.

I'm writing a plugin to let the server admin run scripted stunts, such as teleporting into an area and arriving standing on top of a tall tower, while deer, bunnies and chickens spawn by the dozens. Sort of a Radagast thing.

Other people have written elaborate Role Playing and Economy plugins with skill advancement, money for kills, trading and so on. Just about every server now has something new and different going on.

I can see it now.. so many trapped noobs with a vet standing over them saying "It puts the lotion on its skin..."

I do this now.. but I like to build compartmentalized bases and trap people who dare follow me in in their own 1x1 steel doored cubicle with only a small box. When they log off... I open the door and put some chicken in the box. It likes to keep its pets fed. They sometimes holler for their buddies to come find them... but no one finds the place... wayyyy up on top of a mountain.. and only a single story so you have to be right up on it to see it. In the boonies... no one can hear you scream.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?
