you woke up in cloning station in your clone that had sufficient skill point capacity and all was fine but automatically you got assigned new clone for future which was basic model. So what you had to do at that moment (or anytime before next death) is upgrade that clone to better model with capacity to hold all your skill points which you didn't do.

Yesterday @2014-05-13 16:47 when you fought Proteus and Legion in low-sec with your dual tanked, cloaky PvE, Hurricane Roll, you got killed again because you didn't warp away with insta warping pod while not being bubbled:

and your mind and skills were transferred to that basic clone which was too dumb for your brilliant mind and you lost some skill points. It is a complex procedure so which skills are lost is random and unfortunately for you it was skills for your favorite ship - the mining barge.

What is done is done and please make mental note in future to upgrade your clone moment you wake up in cloning station.

P.S. Little trivia - long time ago when you got podded back to basic clone, you lost all you skill points that didn't fit. So if you had 100milion and base clone can fit 1mil, you lost 99mil SP. That was a pain P

everyone have a clone, only difference is when u got more skillpoints u need better more expensive model..

Everyone has a clone, what does being in Empire have to do with anything? Clones are what allow our characters to survive pod death.

You already are a clone. Your original body was euthanised when your first capsuleer body was constructed and programmed with your consciousness.

The 500k SP is a small loss compared to higher rank skills.

Keep your medical clone up to date, and always renew the contract. Aura will tell you so the first time you get podded. Aura will also keep a warning message up on the big screen in your captain's quarters reminding you that your clone contract is out of date.

Now you know.

Only losing 500k SP is amazing. If I got podded without updating my clone, I'd likely lose about 2 million. As was mentioned above, in the old days... oh boy! You'd be re-living your newbie days.
