Sorry. Could have a been nice discussion.

I'm sorry to hear that, EVE forums act sometimes like a poop.

A question in to things Cyber Warfare related - I know I can affect the turrets/electronics on the enemy ships using modules.. is there stuff in the Lore that actually affects a capsuleers implants seperately?

What about cybernetic prothesis? How liable are these to being attacked by cyber warfare stuff? Or because of their closed circuit interface are they immune to these things?

I always thought it would have been possible to mess around with someone with non-hardened implants with specialised equipment would be a legitimate option..

Wouldn't it be cool if for every new model or new ship you could make a short-movie like "On a momentous day, the Lai Dai corporation unveils to States citizens the newest in cloak technology and bomb deployment - the silent but deadly Manticore! [drums rolling, a Manticore is unveiled in the Lai Dai docks, press teams etc.] . Equipped with powerful new weaponry [shows torpedo bays opening] and state of the art cloak capabilities [ship cloaks in an asteroid field] , the Manticore is a proud new addition to mighty Caldari Navy [Manticore in middle of military parade formation]!".
The current "here are your new ships blog" thing is kinda lame...

That happens to me quite a lot. Either copy and paste before doing so, and refresh the page, or just go back and try again. At least that's what's worked for me.

But yes, I sincerely think CCP should hire a team of Lorehounds whose soul purpose is to edit these things previously mentioned.

Wait, in-world news actually used to be something? I am shocked. So you're telling me CCP actually had legitimate roleplay events that didn't freeze on many of the participants and actually gave equal opportunities for people to participate without monetary compensation tipping the scales?

Seriously CCP. This is Bull. You have a dedicated community of roleplayers such as myself who work tirelessly on their own characters and devote many many hours to enriching your universe from a character perspective, doing their very best to imbed themselves into your universe.

I keep hearing stories of the amazing roleplay events where what you did actually mattered. The most recent one being the Caldari prime event. Not just some head hunting. Give us tangible things to work with for crying out loud! Evil

While personally, I've always had a bit of OCD in terms of backstory and everything being explained perfectly, there are some things that we just can't explain away with fiction and lore.

Sadly that's just the way it is, and sometimes changes have to be made that can't be reflected fully in backstory, although we try to do our best in accommodating it Smile

I have it often as well, but the large posts I can often recall with the 'saved draft' option that appears below. Usually it can recall most of the post, save a small issue.
For some odd reason it shows that it appears to have forgotten the layout, but when you press 'post' the layout magically reappears (attempt to fix the layout results in some very weird spaced out texts)

I personally rationalised some things from the point of view of My capabilities being upgraded, to allow the better graphics, and ability to use new features on some of the ships ( that were already preinstalled but needed me to have a clone upgrade) rather than all the ships getting upgraded overnight.

But that's just me.

I would love the idea of news stories announcing new ships as you described though, listening to CCP rise on the fanfest stream just does not have the same immersion.

Well, I'm sorry that my post was blunt and to the point, but I fail to see it as a troll post. It's neither off-topic nor inflammatory or unconstructive, and thus I fail to see why it was designed to provoke emotional responses and disrupt on-topic discussion. In fact, in that sense, I think you are the bigger troll in this case, as I'm responding to it even now a few months have passed.

I have repeatedly made more constructive posts on the subject, but when those don't get any response, I think you can understand why I use less and less words. Even more so since the least constructive post (the one you replied to)does get a response (something that I've seen on more occasions on this forum).Blink

Anyway, I'll consider bug reporting this. But I'll likely keep rolling my eyes to things that don't make sense to me, and that continue to not make sense even after I pointed out it does not make sense. If you have a problem with that, I suggest removing that smiley from the list. Big smile

Most balance and graphical changes, I think, are explained by waving DEV hand and saying: "It has always been this way".

That would be a very poor explanation, I have to say. I understand we are limited by the fact we are playing a game afterall (though EVE is real, I swear), but I was always fascinated by workarounds in lore for some very specific "anti-lore" game mechanics. I think it enriches the deep-core lore altogether.

Very poor, but very much the realistic, situation. There are times we must do the magic hand wave ourselves or else be driven insane by the shenanigans of a God unseen.

I prefer to call it "adorable Abed' mode. Makes my enemies think twice when they find the name in the lines of code, which is all the time I need.
