Clearing up the Drone changes

As it stands on Singularity (EVE test server)

Scout Drone Operation will become -" Drone Avionics"
So if you have SDO to IV then you will get "Drone Avionics" to IV

Combat Drone Operation will become -" Light Drone Operation"
If you have CDO to IV you will only get Light Drone Operation to IV, you need level V for T2

You will not be able to use Mediums Drones until you learn -" Medium Drone Operation"

Medium Drone Operation is a completely new Skil so if you can use Medium Drones now after the patch you wont be able to and to get T2 Medium drones to V is 10ish days.

I hope this clears up some confusion

As said above this is on the test server for all of you to check out

I don't get it, why not just have 1 drone skill that lets you use heavys lights mediums and sentrys, why do we need 4 skills to operate lights mediums heavys and sentrys?

probably for the same reason we don't have a skill called "guns" that lets you use small, medium, and large, hybrids, projectiles, and lasers.

Personally, thought it was pretty clear from all the discussions and dev blog.

Also, you'll most likely still be able to use the drones you were able to before the split after they split the skills, like they did with battlecruisers. I have ships I can fly, even though I don't have the required battlecruiser skills. There will definitely be rage if you cannot. Lol

How will these changes affect WiS?

And what will that mean for the High Sec industry nerf/buff?

And what will this mean for ECMs?

Probably the same reason there are different skills for small/medium/large turrets.

I don't see why we need to have 20 skills to do the same thing when we could have 1 skill that scales each level and unlocks the same stuff. Its like ccp wants to make it confusing for new players.

you have 5 skills for drones

you could have 1 skill that takes just as long to train 5 skills but scales to unlock lower tier drones each level.
