Adding Contacts Text

When you choose to add someone to your contacts list, there's a text box below the standings. Originally, I'd always assumed this was to make some note for yourself regarding why you added the person, and I thought I'd be able to see it on the notes tab of the chacter's info. However, I checked recently, and there's no information in the notes field on people I've attached notes to. So what then is that text field beneath the standings for, and how do you see what you've input later on?

I could be wrong but I think that text box is for the contactee if check the little "Notify XXXXXX" box, like they can see what you typed in the box.

What happens to to the message if you don't check the box then? It just disappears?

Also, if i want to make a note for myself on someone's profile, can I leave it on the notes tab of the profile in order to remind myself why I set the person's standing to good or bad, etc.?

yup. "notes" tab is for you to leave yourself a note as to why you hate someone.

I would suggest you use notepad (under Accessories) and not the notes section of a pilot's profile. There's no way to go back and search for your notes later unless you add each pilot to your contacts list.

The text you enter in the contact window gets sent
to the person in question, when you send him a notification.

Categorizing people using labels got a boost recently.

Try these instead. :)

While that is what it does, I agree its purpose is a bit opaque until you've been added as a contact with a nastygram in the text.

I would think a field for a note to yourself that you can mouse over and see might be good no?

There is a notes tab in any pilot's Show Info window that you can take personal notes in..
