I have an offer to get in on some rental space in null. The only stuff I could really see myself doing there is PvE. I'm concerned that drone space may not be profitable enough compared to 4s to justify my monthly contribution to the rent.

What isk per hour should I expect doing drone null pve vs 4s?

Depends on how good your are at L4's. And on what security bracket you are getting into and how deep (drones can be pretty damn deep, take into account that JF fuel consumption will be hiked up substantially in few months and that can make things quite unconfortable depending on how reliant you are on empire imports.

All that out of thew way - I have not done the math for a while so the number is no longer relevant. But for what it's worth - couple years ago L4's were 15% better than grinding anoms in sec -0.2. That is with multiple accounts, faction pimped pirate BS's in hi sec L4 vs T2 fit T1 BS in null with equal number of accounts. A lot has changed over the past few years (including the drones).

Now that drones have bounties they are not THAT bad. But dronelands are still damn deep.

I'd expect 25m ticks from an aggressive battleship fit for a pilot with suitable skills (75m/hr). I have no idea what the escalation rates are like or whether the escalations are actually worth more than just ratting.

You'd have to be interested also in mini profs, and the encounters that give the faction drone bits, and sentient farming generally for the chip for SOE hand ins, ie there are a few things to try there, though I doubt I could last 6 months there myself.

rewards v rent doesn't look like it will work out.

If you are running level 4s in Empire then moving out to null, having to pay rent and all that just to run anoms is not going to make you anything more and adds the potential risk that you will lose your stuff from PVP or just your rental corp being booted at some point.

Since you would be renting you would have to look up the rules for escalations as if they are in a system that you cannot rat in then you have lost one of the advantages of running anoms in null. If you could throw in some PI or if you had right to throw up some POS for reactions it might be worth it but purely from running anoms? Nah.
