Hello!




So as some of you may have noticed there has been a few changes to the broadcasting system in the fleet window. When trying to broadcast a command "Warp to" or "Align to" we are presented with very long worded broadcast tags. In nearly every situation this message is way too long to even be able to read, and deciphering what the person is wanting us to do falls off the end of a acceptable sized fleet window. This could cause problems in some cases when multiple "Warp to's" are broadcasted, and pilots are asked not to follow one of them but another, when in most peoples perspective the message will appear exactly the same. Below are some examples and suggestions to a possible fix.

The above image is the difference between a normal sized "fleet" window showing "Broadcast History" and to the right is the size it needs to be in order to view the entire message, this is just an unacceptable size in most cases. As you can see there are 4 broadcasts down at the bottom of the window by a fleet member in the left of the image. All these messages appear to look exactly the same apart from the time stamp, yet on the right side you can see they are actually pointing to two different locations.

The Problem

• Messages cannot be fully read.
• Different "Warp to" and "Align to" messages can appear as the exact some looking message when cut off.
• There is no scroll bars to read the full message, the window needs to be expanded to see it all.

Possible Solutions

• Add option to disable [TIMESTAMP] - To shorten the message.
• The broadcasters name could be shown at the end of the message.
• Take out un-needed words - Making it an order instead of someone talking to someone else.

[Updated] [TIMESTAMP] Align [DESTINATION] - [BROADCASTERS NAME]
[Optional] Align [DESTINATION] - [BROADCASTERS NAME]

[Updated] 08:43:20 Align Nation Commander Outpost - Kittiee Archane
[Optional] Align Nation Commander Outpost - Kittiee Archane

I am yet to confront someone who enjoys and appreciates the new updates to these broadcast messages. The last thing Eve Online players need is more box's taking up more space on their screens. These changes have forced confusion while FC'ing, especially in Incursions when so many players rely on orders given via broadcasts, and said broadcasts happen very regularly. If others are having the same issues with this new update I would like to hear their opinions on the possible solutions. Also if there is anyone out there that actually likes these changes, I only ask that you voice your opinions on the matter.

That's not the only thing CCP broke. They also broke the pop-up delivery for invention (making people think all their runs had failed).

The problems in the EVE UI is systemic, without fully understanding how and why the players do what they do, the changes they make often have the opposite effect. I had a wtf moment in reading on the "locked windows" changes in the Test Forum. It clearly demonstrates that their current methodologies in UI improvements is lacking both forethought and experience (aka do you actually play EVE?).

That needs to change if they're really serious about it.
