I have to agree with a lot of what's been said.

Displaying the same information twice and causing interference with the UI is never a good thing. I can understand some hand holding for new people, but once they get the hang of it no doubt they'll also want to turn off this annoying feature. An option to turn off features like this makes sense but is never implemented, why CCP? whyyyyyyyy?

They should try this on the forums first.

"This guy is a troll."
"This guy is secretly in love with CCP Guard"
"Grr this guy in particular"

"Don't post this, for it will get threadnaughted to hell" -For the newbies.

Funny, this only turns on/off my 4th medslot active module.

This is as nice as I get. Best quote ever https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4137165#post4137165

Who the **** made this crap?

Does he even play this game??

This bodes so well for the industrial overhaul, which will be handled with the same high standard of professionalism.

I particularly like when it tells me a billboard is a "billboard".

These tooltips are for new players, we know these things as we play many, many hours and we can say with closed eyes what is what. We should get turn off tooltips sections for overview and in space and in UI, hell, even the module tooltips for consistency. Attention

Maybe because of old code being too old to touch it. FEAR the programming skills of olde. P

Use SiSi to implement changes like this before dumping them in our laps please, CCP.

That is what SiSi is for.. not just so people can burn down free boats.

The tooltips pop up where you don´t want them to.. with information you don´t need.

Please code in an option to to disable them.. and just plain disable them until that is possible.

These have been on SiSi for over a month.

While I like the new bars when you hold the mouse over a lot of stuff in the same direction in space, I think the guy who designed the tooltips needs to go back to EA games... It not really their crowd over here. They are better for the sports game freaks. "This is a football", "players kick the football into the goal".

CCP what a great way to show your playerbase that you care more for the New Player Experience than you do for your current member base.

This crap just clutters up the screen and tells you information that is already displayed on the screen. For example (and for once I find myself agreeing with DinDin) I dont need a pop up showing me that a billboard is a billboard. Or a pop up in my inventory that shows my stack of 3000 Navy Heavy Assault Missiles is in a stack of 3000 Navy Heavy Assault Missiles.

And my biggest pet hate. Hover over the Skillqueue Training time on the Neocom... It no long counts down on the hoverbar.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

As for the NPE, I would suggest that a new player will pick up the terminology and what the key items are in about an hour. After that, this thing will drive him nuts as well.

If there is no way to turn this off, this will rapidly become a negative for the APE , the All Player Experience.

Surprise, surprise - devblog praises tooltips as second coming of Jesus The Savior of Newbies.
And comments thread is also surprisingly low on rage.
