After looking at the various industrials, I can't see any reason why someone into manufacturing, PI, or mining would not train Gallente Industiral with the dedicated bays over other racial industrials. Am I overlooking a pertinent fact?

Well, as far as I'm looking at it, you probably not learning them further than level 1 unless you are going to fly Obelisk (Which is surprising on it's own). You get a big bonuses to cargo and some to velocity, yeah, but you are not slowboating on them and base yield pretty much covers the needs.

As for hauling stuff other than PI products, minerals and ore, better give it to some dedicated hauling corp like [YOUR AD HERE]. It will save a lot of time and nerves. And even if things will go wrong, you are getting refund.

there is no real reason to fly anything other then gallente transports. i brought up this issue to them in the before they made the "rebalance" and they still did it anyways. i don't remember the last time i seen another transport ship other then gallente. if they had bothered passing around the best bonuses among the other factions, we have more variation today. they should have given the hoarder the ore bonus so we could at least see one other transport ship that was not gallente.

I use the hoarder all the time to transport the large amount of ammo I produce for market. You can't fit the amount in a iteron 5 nor do you have the luxury of using your low slots for something other than cargo expanders.

The T1 industrial changes were fantastic and allow future changes that you might not even think of right now.

And on top of all of that, you only have to train to level 1 industrial to use them. There are far greater "injustices" in the game to complain about than this.

Main freighter - Charon
Main freighter far from hubs - Fenrir
Main power horse - Orca
Main wannabe power horse - Bestower
And outside of starter systems, the only "tanky" indy I see is wreathe.

It seems that we play on different servers.

I guess I was assuming all other factors being equal, which is to say an industrialist flying in high-sec only with a trade hub reasonably close. What struck me as odd is that Amarr and Caldari T1 industrials seem to be really bad choices for inustrialists since even a rigged Bestower carries less cargo than the Ore hold of the Miasmos with low skills.

OP is talking about standard transport ships, not about freighters or orcas. you see a lot of different freighters running around since the difference between them isnt all that great. the difference in gallente transports compared to the other faction is huge. you can do a lot more with gallente transports. its like putting all the best combat cruisers in one faction and letting the other ones rot away.

My characters train them all to 4.

They also train Caldari Industrial 5 & Caldari Freighter 5, as that's what I use the most.

The bestower however isn't limited to carrying ore. With just a Miasmos you're going to have a hard time moving finished products to market.

I have
- 1 Miasmos
- 1 Epitheal
- 1 Bestower
- 1 Viator
- 1 Providence

I use all of them

Before rebalance most people used to only fly the Itty V. Nobody ever used the Itty II (now the Kryos). The Itty I was only the noob hauler.

When traveling in HS today, you encounter them all. Some more, some less, but it's a lot more diverse than it used to be.

The Epithal is good at PI. The Kryos is great at unloading minerals at a POS. The Hoarder shines in delivering charges. The Nereus is a little battle monster. The Bestower now has the biggest cargo bay. The Wreathe and the Sigil are still nimble snd tzhe Caldari hualers are a mix of everything.

They may not be perfect, but they are in a much better spot than ever since I joined the game in late 2010.

Remove standings and insurance.
