Disable recent update tooltips?

This is in reference to the recent update on 5/13/14.

This update added hovering popup tooltips to everything. Everything.

I might be alone here but I know what the symbols on the overview represent. Anyone playing the game more than a month does. *Contains loot items* - Great, thanks..

Can this be disabled? I have looked for an option to do it however I can't seem to find it. I have quite possibly overlooked it.

If this can't be disabled, make it so it can please.

The new tooltips certainly need more work. The content, as mentioned, is rather useless at times, but what is even worse is the delay: now I can't hover my mouse over brackets to get instant info on what exactly the object is.

Perhaps roll back to the old ones untill the new ones are properly polished?

new shinys for new players is good, but when the majority of players are old hands please give us a way to disable things we dont need(everything but module tooltips for me)

I can't even click to target ships on the screen that are close together..

Want to know why?

Because some giant hovering popup blocks anything within a 2x0.5 inch radius around it.

Targeting is broken, everything has a delay because of the animation. This is bad.

Yes, please, it's hideous and game breaking.

I noticed this in space!

That's .. ridiculous! I haven't seen every case yet,
but why does it try to add information when this information is already presented?

Why the redundancy?
Why are people being treated as if they were idiots?

Wtf is this crap ??

I'm not happy. :(
I feel insulted. ):

But this is the wrong approach!

Tooltips that give redundant information are pointless.

Yes, maybe a new player does not know the first time that a wreck
with a filled triangle contains loot ... but why does he need to be reminded *every single time* ?

It's pointless and removes any initiative to remember things.

This is bad change, CCP!

Wtf is wrong with the guy who did this?
It's a brainless approach to things!

Undo it!

Oh, and since we're on the subject, give us an option to disable the thrice goddammed action wheel.

Don't change anything on them, they work perfectly, just add the option to disable for other people who don't like.

They're indeed annoying as heck, on the overview stuff has Icons to identify what it is.

I know the square is a Station, no reason to tell me twice.

Dear God give us the option to turn this crap off, in BNI I am pretty sure 99% of everyone is not impressed.

I do not need a helpful tool tip telling me a "planet" is a "planet" in overview, redundancy rarely achieves much beyond royally pissing everyone off.

Another great step from ccp towards the evolution of eve.

Not.

If only CCP stopped touching their keyboards, and just stop screwing up our game.

I actually do agree with you though. Just showing you what it's like when you make a perfectly reasonable post and someone replies with non-sense. Not at all saying that's what you do though, nope...

Try grabbing “scatter containers” in an exploration site, they are already bad enough with out this getting in your way, it is a real pain!
I agree with the above, we need a disable option!

Please try to keep things within their specific thread, first of all.

Secondly discussing design philosophy is an entirely different boat from UI changes. Collating the two literally could not be more of a category error.

There's an excellent system of brackets and colours that gives a wealth of information about various entities that might be encountered. There is thus no purpose in a massive box blocking my screen to tell me "This pilot is in your fleet" when I could see that without having to put my mouse anywhere near it.

If you need "Mail" to have an explanation that "This is to send and receive mail" you shouldn't be playing Eve.

Whilst I appreciate that someone put a lot of work into the UI, I feel that much of that effort has been wasted on giving us things which add little and in many cases detract from things that work well.

The tooltips have also had the font size increased, which not only makes them take up too much space, but makes them more difficult to read, as the height of the letters is now too great in relation to the width.

Because I am a fair man, I have been trying to give this a second chance, etc, etc, for the last two hours or so.

And now I will not be logging in until this "feature" is removed. Yes, it's really that bad.

While I recognize that someone somewhere probably worked hard on this, it is simply awful, and it needs to be disabled for the time being, ultimately made to be 100% optional.
