Tengu Vs Machariel

Reloading doesn't really lower my Machariel's DPS: 120 rounds is more than enough to take out most groups of enemies, then reload while approaching the next. Even if you have to reload once, it's not like the Tengu (or other ships) never have to reload or regen capacitor power.

As for the utility high slot: I still prefer using an Auto Targeting System II. I don't activate it, just use it's passive bonus. I found it very convenient to simply lock on almost all frigates of a site at once.

damn do you guys fit your tengus like that... time to go buy a tornado bpo Twisted
tbh the tengu can get by with the same gank and way less tank (or are pithum boosters cheap now!?)

both ships are very awesome for lv 4 missions, https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=427472#post427472 pretty much hit the main points.

Since the mach has nearlythe same stats, but at the same time having a huge chunk more dps + added extra drone bay, you'd have to choose mach... everytime.

falloff.... I'd still choose the mach a lot of the time but not every time.

Falloff isn't flat. Mach has 75km falloff. At half of that 75km, it still does 80% of 1300 dps. This compared to Tengu's 700 kinetic dps out to 100+km, or 500 non kinetic dps.

I never really paid attention to the best vs best. Depending on skills they are both kings of missions, I generally hate dealing with drones is distracting to me. Of course I dual box a lot also with two tengus or Mach and tengu or Golem and tengu but always with a tengu. It is a slippery little ship that can survive what would kill most other ships (besides that mach :))

I fly Caldari Navy so majority are kentic rats and when flying both the mach and tengu I think the tengu has an edge without dealing with jamming and drones. The Golem can melt face also but that is another story.

I think those who fly the mach and not the tengu will say "Mach is better in every way" however for those pilots who can fly both are little more balanced. You can generally tell who flys both in these ship pissing matches.

I have Tengu, Nighthawk, Golem, Mach in my hanger including Ishtar and few others. Sometimes I fly something different to just have something new to do. Everyone of them have strengths and weakness as it should be. However the Tengu and Mach do outshine all others in PVE and they are not drastically better or worse from each other as some claim.

So personally I did missions in a Tengu and then spent a lot of time training for the Mach and T2 weapons. I have been trying to use it but I just don't get things done as fast as in the Tengu. Yes, it does kill battleships faster, but I have problems. For example, I won't get a lock on all of the frigates for a first spawn quick enough to 1 shot them, so I finish off the BS and BCs, now I have 2-3 frigates circling me that I 100% can not hit unless I unleash my warrior IIs. But my warrior IIs aggro the next wave. So now I have to pull my warriors back in and start on the next wave before I finish off the 1st. Plus, its tank isn't as comfortable with the Tengu, so when you do inevitably get in sticky situations, you have to sweat a little because your 800m hull might pop if you have to answer the doorbell.

Yep it is far from the perfect ship.
