Show new player how to train into an Atron with a scram/web.

Show new player how to tackle.

Have new player tackle while you kill.

Show new player killmail with him on it for helping.

Congratulate New player on first kill.

Let new player bathe in tears and podgoo of the enemy.

New player is now hooked on Eve.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

It's a tough game to get in to.

I tried for years to get a mate to play and he always said "not interested".

Eventually him and 2 others gave it a try without my interference other than to be around to answer questions.. After one month they were hooked.... he plays and pvp's far more than I do now :) Probably has a better overall capture of pvp in general and decision making and theory crafting.

It's very mind boggling to come in new by yourself, if you can get a couple at a time it's easier.

We have another starting in a months time, we've managed to bring him around after months of streaming for him :) We have roles for him to start off so he doesn't appear useless (pvp wise), a skill training plan for the first 3 months so he doesn't have to make the decisions right off the bat... and in no way are we going to make him do missioning or mining unless he chooses too after :)

New players NEED support from existing players and not just ISK, but advice and knowledge as it can be ovverwhelming.

All about baby steps :)

This likely will require the eventual reach-around, so make sure you're up for it before getting started down this path. But hey, whatever works.
