Legion looks like a DUST 2.0, most likely going to fail just as hard as the first.

Maybe it wasn't a good idea to bring in those former EA guys after all... What?

The CELL has more than a single core just an FYI and its 512mb RAM total, 256 for system and games and 256 for the RSX GPU

I'm not going to defend how limited or old the hardware is though, releasing dust on the PS3 was a bad idea to begin with considering how close we were to the PS3's end, The PS4 is more of a PC in a console box but personally i would just avoid the console market altogether, even with the PS4 you're still not going to get a decent cross platform experience because either the console players will get trounced by the PC users or the PC experience will be crippled to the point that its horrible to play just to make it fair on the console players.

No, the CELL IS a single core, but it's somewhat divided into 8 processing units called SPE's.
1 SPE is reserved for security, another is turned off for a reason I forgot about, and that leaves 6 SPE's for developers.
It's a weird, non standard setup, which is why developers had trouble with it for a long time.

I don't think it was the EA guys that decided to launch Dust on PS3 in the first place. But it seems they're finally realizing what a stupid idea that was.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

1 SPE is disabled to improve production quantities, even if a SPE is damaged during production it can still be used effectively without having to be discarded, it does also mean that there will be a number of CELL processors out there able to use all 8 SPE's but cant due to it being disabled, companies like AMD and Intel doe the same thing and just underclock and disable cores to sell the damaged chip as a lower specced model, certain cores can be "unlocked" although its not reliable

And yes one of the major issues with the PS3 was how difficult it was to code for compared to other platforms, but thankfully we're now past that era and on to more traditional x86 based products
