CCP please consider allowing players to contribute with art/game assets, like cloth and acessories, helmets ship models or ship skins. it is the future! you dont need to copy valve or sony, invent your own, but w/e you do let us share something REAL. thank you!

if you are a council member and support this idea, let me know plesae! o7

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Valve have workshops for games on steam. Works good for them and everyone. I like this idea.

Are you going to fight me or do you expect to bore me to death with your forum pvp?

It's not a bad idea. If CCP can add user-made items to the NEX store they could likely justify a similar payment for user content similar to what Valve has done. I can see clothing items, perhaps ship skins, but actual ships might be going a bit too far. I'm worried that would drive PLEX prices up even more than what they currently are, though.

+1 Adding my support here.

I think having clothes and shipskins on the nex store would be a great idea. Plus letting the player base get their hands on the carbon engine and take it for a spin would be great for both CCP in terms of new ideas and inspiration, as well as something cool to do with the tech that came from WoD. And for the community too, who have a lot to add to the art of eve in terms of imagination but very few ways to do it in game.

Please make a more authentic redesign of the Moa to replace the upcoming imposter.

If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request.

I think this is an absolutely horrible idea.

I saw what happened to games where stuff like this is possible and it always produces terrible results. People will go to extremes just to attract attention, like they do in all the other games.

The style of the ships and the cloths in the game are extremely important for the dark and futuristic atmosphere and the immersion. Too much customization would transform this game about a dark future with gigantic spaceships into a circus.

This stuff may work for comic stile games like TF2 and DOTA, but not for a game like EVE.

tl;dr
My spaceship game is serious business! Don't make a circus out of it!

This would be the first issue. With stuff like this CCP gives up control of their IP (as in intellectual property) to some extent. While some modders would stay in the spirit of what ccp has in mind for thier IP...it be the "freaks" as it were who would jsut crap on this spirit.

Also tied to this is potential lawsuits as modders go I like this look from say STO. Put it in game and then one day CCP gets a love letter from STO's lawyers saying please stop using our IP in your game.

All this then leads to more work for CCP as staff has to scour the workshop constantly. Not sure how valve/steam works around this. guessing since not the most prolific maker of games the revenue generated from the steam division pays for mod reviewers salaries well enough they can staff this more readily.

I'll +1 this (with some serious reservations over QC and player-made additions remaining "true" to the EVE Universe).
If those two concerns could be reliably met, then I think an avenue for players to add fan made content available on the NEX store and sold for Aurum/ISK would be a cool addition.

I'm right behind you
