Dev blog: Alliance Tournament XII announced

My team got reamed hard by this change last year. Almost half the pilots on the team ended up only being able to fly T1 frigs, kinda makes it hard to put together workable set-ups. Even more so 2 pilots were alts with no skills prior to the tourney announcement. So, we ended up with 2 pilots flying with less then 3 million SP.

That said, you should have been prepared for this. I would have had all of my pilots I wanted in the alliance by February at the latest, December 31st would have been best.. It would not have surprised me to see CCP set the deadline to January 1st.

Last year there was no warning at all. It sucks to be in your situation but, better luck in planning for next year.

Like I said, I'm whining some Blink I wasn't able to even start my alliance up till March 2nd, for a variety of reasons I won't bore you with.

I detested the unannounced deadline last year also. Thought it was patently unbalanced then just as I do now; in particular, I thought (and still think) it had zero ability to stop "B" teams from being formed. Of course, last year, I was in a old, established alliance that the team members who were out of alliance at the cutoff were able to get exceptions for without issue.

On the positive side, all my inexperienced members have enough time to train into T2 frigs before August 16th!! Lol (actually most of my inexperienced guys got it trained over the last month). Regardless, I am very much looking forward to and excited for the AT this year. Our enthusiasm is high despite it all, and we'll put on a good show (if we get in!) no matter what!

I've got a question about EVE TV's Player Commentator Team:
Are only English-speaking commentators needed? I would like to participate, but as a Russian-speaking commentator, Russian community is interested at watching ATXII, and I'm willing to help :)

How does one go about advertising their alliance Recruitment during the streams? Is that an option?

If the past is any indicator they will open submissions for ads closer to the tourney, im guessing late July is when that will happen.

If someone is in the alliance as of the cutoff date, then leaves the alliance, then comes back to the alliance, are they considered eligible for the arena or not?
