Repairing security status is tons of fun

Taken my first dive into piracy this month and finally have fallen below -5.0. I am now sitting AFK in a belt with drones deployed. I could have sworn I got into this piracy thing specifically to get away from mind-numbingly boring grinding. Of course, I should have known better!

EVE, you are nothing but one giant grind with a blanket of pretty lights and spreadsheets layed on top.

Grrrr someone.

150mil to go from -5 to -2 at current Jita prices. For some forms of ganking this is fine. For those looking to pop 3 pods for the lulz, that is not a reasonable price.

Ah well, not saying it's not balanced or anything, just wish it wasn't so boring.
I'd love a mechanic where I'm engaging some sort of player entity to repair sec status but considering the nature of alts not sure how this would work.

Must be reasonable to someone since they are being purchased.

Gank Highseccers to reduce sec status.

Camp routes to lowsec CONCORD stations where sec offices are and gank people on the way to repair their sec.

Loot wrecks, get tags.

Repair sec.

Repeat.

All of life's problems can be solved with ganking.

In a rather ironic turn of events: I have just been podded while grinding sec status by the player who I podded that put me under -5.0 thereby requiring me to grind sec status in the first place.

I miss the old grinding for sec mechanics..
Be below -5, hop in a stealth bomber, head to -1.0 null sec, kill one BS rat, jump to next system, kill another BS rat, repeat... and sec status fixed in an afternoon of chaining systems like this.
Tried it with the new mechanics and it's just not worth the time. So buying tags, or acquiring them in a different way is the better way to go.
Alternatively, having access to a null system, and grinding Sanctums and Havens all day does the trick as well.

Lastly, if you don't mind being bored out of your mind, buy tags to get it above -2, then get a DPS ship of your choice and prepare yourself for a nap fest of blitzing level 4 missions until you're above 0. Tried it once, and you get about a .5 sec improvement per hour (don't quote me on that since i'm probably way off). So 4 - 5 hours of blitzing and you just saved yourself like 150 mil or so. (not really worth it tbh)

I like how it crushes those who refuse to move laterally.

Much like how a round spaceship rolls along crushing a running person too stupid to move to the side

Or those who buy the movie on DVD to watch again and be ever more frustrated and confused.

I'm confused.

Unless you are doing very specific forms of piracy, you can accomplish it all at -10 with either alts or working in a group, of which there are plenty to chose from. If you are doing said specific forms, the profits should far exceed the trivial sec status hits you take.

Vote Vic Jefferson for CSM X.....XI.....XII?

If you're worried about sec status just don't pod. It takes ages to drop.

Zappity's Adventures for a taste of lowsec and nullsec.

So what if you have neg sec? I've been neg on various alts for years and I'll be damned if I'll grind them up. It takes less than a day to roll a hauler alt to buy and deliver stuff. Failing that, get your mates to help.

If you don't want neg sec on an alt you need to access highsec, don't use that character :gawd: Or at the very least make sure what you kill is worth the cost of tags. 150m is pocket change, unless you're a complete scrub.

What I don't get is why people even want to go into highsec anyway >.>
